So, what should I expect to pay? #825788

I've been insured on the LE obviously, but I added it to the insurance on my Land Rover for the remainder of my policy.

Now I want to insure the LE separately, what should I expect to pay?

I'm 38, full no claims, car is garaged, lowish risk area, 6-9k a year mileage, no convictions.

I have done the compare the meerkat thing and the lowest was £380, I thought I'd get it cheaper than that to be honest. The insurance on my LR Discovery V8 is £340 protected and NOT using my no claims against it, leaving them free for the Coop.

Any thoughts, anyone of a comparable age/situation with a decent quote?

Gareth

I'm older than you (46) with 2 speeding convictions, an at-fault accident (which wasn't my fault but no witnesses)and a low risk area, garaged car with up to 5000 miles p.a. with protected no claims.

I'm paying £200 through More Than for my 2.0 VT

Try using "Comnfused.com"..I've saved around £500 this year between my wifes Alfa GTV 3.0 and my Coupe

Thanks Alan, best I've managed so far is £340 with my NCB protected. I'll keep trying though, I reckon I can get it sub £300 with all the cover features I need.

Well, the £340 is with Quick Fit. Adrian Flux couldn't get close!

Will post again if I do any better.

Well, I beat it, but not by much. Went with Flux in the end, they couldn't touch the lowest quote I had at first, but the girl suggested, quite bizarrely that if it was modified I might fair better! So, we "added" an air filter and hey presto, they beat their best unmodified quote by £100!

It turns out that my postcode wasn't helping, although I live in a nice area, very quiet, no car crime that I've heard of etc, because I share Blackburns postcode, it pushes it up a bit.

Anyway, it's done for a year now.

Wierd, get modding!

Gareth
