I've just put Eibach springs on standard dampers, and I'm happy to report that the handling and the ride are better, on my first attempt at fast driving on a nearby road I was able to enter each of a series of corners at 60 and exit at just over 70, compared to entering at 50 and exiting at 60, I'm sure I'll be able to go quicker one I'm more used to them. The communication of grip level is vastly improved, before the car would understeer very violently and all at once, now I can feel the onset of very mild understeer and back off, preserving maximum speed without getting out of shape. The ride is better too, because it doesn't bottom out over every dip and bump, the spring are stiff enough to allow the suspension to do their job, and it feels better for passengers because the car feels better planted on the road.

Just to add this. I put Apex Springs on Bilstein dampers and the car was awful.
Rock hard ride, worse handling than standard and the steering would creak due to the angle that the springs fitted to the top mounts.

I have the Eibach/Bilstein (B8) combo on my daily (BMW E30) and they are fantastic, even over the truly horrible roads near where I live - but that car has 15" wheels and 55 profile tyres so it has more of a chance over the bumps. My coupe is standard and I wouldn't want it any stiffer for fear of bouncing it into an early grave - but one thing that made a big difference on the bmw without hurting the ride was uprated rollbars. If you are after flatter cornering on bad roads you might give them a try?
