Well after doing the clutch cambelt mot etc I had a days trouble free motoring lol, well it did'nt last, today after work thought I would go for a quick spin pressed the meta alarm to unlock it and the alarm goes off its ok when the cars left but as soon as I unlock it goes off anybody got any ideas before I kick it

Sounds like your alarm is out of sync with the door locks, easy to sort, press the fob so that you see the lights flash so that it's armed, if the doors unlock when you do this just lock the doors with the key, should sort this issue.

Yes the siren can be disconnected if necessary, you'll find this either under the passenger wing or behind the n/s fog light unit, that is if it's a standard alarm system of course.

Tried what you said no luck disconected the battery and siren goes last time I did this it only chirped, have had the battery disconected while I did clutch when I used it after that it chirped when I unlocked it which it did'nt do before?Amybody got any ideas?

So when you unlock it with the fob key the alarm then sounds?

Yes that's right

You might need to unplug the module for an hour to reset the board, these are a bugger to get to though as they live right up behind the instrument panel above the fuse board.

sorry this is aside from the main topic...but its kinda related...do all 20vt's come with alarm/immobiliser standard? i just recently bought mine and nothing happens when i press the button on the key.

Hi just a update on this decided to take the siren off as I thought if I had to mess about at least I could do it in peace and guess what no more problems everything now as it should (even if the siren is still going in the garage lol)
cx105 I believe they do alarm contolled by key fob and immobiliser off the ignition key.

Hmmm...looks like mine's been disconnected...like you i'll have to go digging around to find out.
