No that will go on any 20VT, with or without a FMIC. Easy to fit too.

Coopless!

The K&N kit comes with a piece of rubber hose that you need for locating the filter, just buying the filter wont work as you wont have anything to mount it on.

I put one of these on at the weekend, and its definately coming off this week! It makes the car sound like theres some kind of gimmick under the bonnet, plus the girlfriend said you've turned your car into a 'w#nker machine'. I spent the day finding it very funny doing the dump valve noises everywhere, but when someone else said to me 'oh i remember this guy i worked with had a fiesta that made all those noises i thought, no this is coming off asap! didnt notice any performance hike, so at the end of the day your paying for a sound effects unit??!!

it is not promising a performance hike, but when you have more performance modafacations on you engine, it help flow more air into the engine as it provides more surface area so youe engine is not staved of air.

On a highly modified Coupe you would maybe get a slight gain at top end but with a loss of low end torque. Otherwise its just for the noise. I think the K&N panel filter is a nice comprimise.

I enjoy the variety of mad sounds the 57i brings! I'm certainly not tired of it yet after 5 months.

I also think that the K&N panel filter is a alternative.
And if you want more noise, you can drill holes a side in the box.

Is fitting this likely to make any difference to the power delivery? flat spots etc or can the ecu adapt to the changes?
Would quite like some more noise but don't want to mess things up.

I noticed no difference to the performance of the car coming from a K&N panel filter and drilled airbox to the 57i, but the variety of sounds you get from it is good, especially when coupled with a nice dump valve!!

I’m putting this question on the table because my coop doesn't have an airbox. I’ve bought it with a cone air filter, but a chip one, doesn't have brand and the material is sponge.
I’m trying to decide if it’s better to put k&n cone filter or k&n strait induction

it all depends on whats been modified in respect of performance. if you hav a FMIC (front mounted intercooler), then you could run a straight induction pipe, but if you still run the std ic, then that will stop you running a straight pipe.

just buy the k+n 57i and enjoy
