Update time.

As you all know, the coupe is still off the road due to the engine being damaged severely due to a oil starvation problem. At this moment Barbz is knocking me up a new engine (in between everyone elses jobs) and hopefully i will have it within the next week or so. Coupe has been moved from the garage which stripped it down (cause they complained it was lying there) and now is resting in a garage near my house.

In the meantime however, i have bought myself a little cinquecento as a run around (the 106 diesel was falling apart) and now have 54bhp of Pure Power available! Really will feel the difference when i get my coupe back!!!

Hiya Ross
Welcome back! Almost!!!
Ahhh a Cinq Sporting, you'll miss the handling of that when you get back in the Coupe,
but mind you don't hit the car in front when you put the foot down in the Coupe!!

The cinq is good at handling i do admit. But the lack of power is killing me to be honest. Torquey wee bugger tho i'll give it that. 80mph in 5th, put the foot down and it does start to pull.

My first car was a Cinq Sporting, lovely motor to learn to drive/to the limit on twisties!!
I laughed when I sat into a Coupe for the first time because the Cinq Sporting had the same leather gear knob!

Been a few momths since i last posted.......

Engine is now on the engine stand and the shell is on the ramps and its going to be put into the car tommorow. Its a full rebuild from barbz as i've described on other threads. They hope to get everything connected and the car up and running by 2moz night (hopefully) and i have AT LAST all the bits needed to finish the job. Need to run it in properly.. no more than 3000rpm till 500 miles then 3000-4500 from 500-750miles then from 750-1000 gently ease to the rev limiter, still on base boost. 200 miles then oil change, then 1000 miles change to 10w50 pro s and take the boost up to 1 bar which i'll run on for a few thousand miles. Then whap up the boost and take it on the RR.

Just waiting to see what happens....

Ross

Kiss of death....

Its still not ready because its missing the power steering pump, the pulley that goes with that and the bolt and also the tensioners and the bracket aswell (so i've been told). Basically im missing everything bar the alternator that connects to that housing!!! friggin hell.

Wrote a bigger message but it never saved.

Basically.

Car is working. Need passenger wing, power steering pump, radiator bushes and clip to hold fan onto top of radiator.

Speedo is temperamental. Reads zero on startup but rest of the day reads like normal.

Car is driving straight after replacing the wheel bearings and hub flanges.

Oil cooler reconnected and working like a dream. No oil leaks so far and coolant levels are perfect. All good so far. Done 100 miles in 24 hours so hopefully in a week or so get oil changed and can go above 3000rpm.

Any help or advice appreciated.
Will post pics and vids.

Ross
