Hence why I'm baffled fiat never did anything to replace the coupe - it adds prestige to the whole brand. I guess fiat don't feel the need with alfa but the fiat brand is the poorer for it.

I always think when I see something like a mazda 6, it's just a rep car, but the styling links to the rx8 makes it a little more interesting

As Wazza says, we get a lot of comments "Downunder" as very few locals know the car, unless they are on Playstation.

Last thursday night, following a FCCQ meeting, one of our members from the Sunshine Coast was looking for a place to stay as she did not want to drive the 2 hours home so I phoned "her indoors" to clear that she could stay at our house. Said she would park her car outside as my Coupe would be in the garage.

Next morning, a young guy on his way to school stops, pulls out his mobile phone and takes a few photos. Must have made his day to come across a lovely restored red 308 GTS. Have also had this happen with the Coupe

rear badge is off as it just looks better without it, they read my centre caps.

It's not the fact it's a Fiat that makes me glad the previous owner debadged it, it's the fact that the standard Fiat and Coupe badges look crap...

I was in a small town in Somerset yesterday, enjoying the weather. Towards the end of the day i was walking back into the town's only car park and and a gent waiting in his car asked if i was leaving so he could have my space.

As i left the space i noticed my ticket still had 3 hours worth of parking on it, so i stopped alongside him to offer it to him. I immediately got:

Him: "Wow, what car is that?"

Me: "Its a Fiat Coupe"

Him: "It looks amazing, i've never seen anything like it...but i'm from Canada"

Me: "Well there's definitely one in Canada, but it was imported from the UK"

Him: "Haha, well she's a beauty"

laugh

At Cars in the Park at Harewood yesterday I had to settle a debate, admittedly among a group of kids, about whether the car was a Fiat or an, er, Citroen. Not quite sure which Citroen they had in mind...

1. Think of something witty and urbane
2. Imagine it written here

I had a chap from Canada taking pictures of my coupe outside my flat a while back - with a proper big camera. He did not know what it was, and had never seen one before.
