Who else thinks that the Coupe is the motoring bargain of all time?

I will keep mine for as long as I can. Just need to keep the rather large bills under the misses radar.

I want to keep it forever, i love the thought of having it in 20 years time, a real bona fide classic.

Any time soon i'm gonna have to look for a 2nd car though, miles are piling on......

I don't know about the car, but the owners club is without doubt a bargain coat

I'd probably keep it forever if I had the garage space. I've owned it a long time and have revived it from death so I'm kinda attached to it.

I'll prbably keep it until I can afford something really special.

For the first time in my life I can't think of any other car I'd rather have, this is important to me as I usually buy a car and then start looking for a replacement, first car I've bought two of! But to answer the question I bought mine to keep for as long as I can, so yes she's a keeper. laugh

Yours is just older than mine: Mine is 25404 registered on 24 August 1995.

Mine is also a keeper.

Our 16v - first registered 18th August 1995!

The next one will be forever... that was the idea with the one I just parted with but I'm not buying another until I know I'll be able to hang on to it.

...

Just hope there are still some decent ones left to buy when I've scraped the cash together!

I would seriously consider this but as each new kid arrives I get all sensible and sell a coop, and there is another kid on the way.

Storage is my biggest problem but I am certain that in 20 years I will be scouring the country looking for one of my ex coops which will then have another 10 owners on it and will cost more than it is worth now.

Sure this will be the case for a few current owners that decide to sell up laugh

Plan on keeping my 1 prev owner 20vt but a Black LE would be nice if mint.

Have bought a mk2 RS2000 being restored now, as a project it cost me as much as my mint example sold for 18 years ago rolleyes

Pitty cars cant be shrunk so we can store them easier laugh

1st time I have used the quote (as you can probably tell :D)

How do you seperate the quote from your post?

You need to write outside the "[ quote=Someoneelse]What they said[/quote]" bit in the reply box. Hopefully that makes sense.

I'd keep mine given an infinite amount of storage space but I don't have that so I won't. It isn't going anywhere in a hurry though.

Up yours Photobucket.

No intention of getting rid of mine anytime soon, hence the impending spend spree. I've had people tell me it's not worth much, but doesn't bother me, it's MY COUPE, and I'm damn proud of it.

I know where you're coming from, I would have a few years ago but I can't get into one, too tall, and getting out involves falling out onto the pavement and then standing up which isn't a good look

I'll probably keep it until it's impossible to keep on the road (hopefully never).

If I became very wealthy indeed I'd get something more exotic or more likely something more comfortable smile

But if that happened I'd be able to afford a double garage and keep the coupe just for nostalgia trips - so no, can't imagine any circumstances which would part me from it.

I certainly hoped to keep mine longer than I have, but two massive engine problems in 3 months of ownership have forced my hand... frown

If I can get the money together & I find the right one though, there will be no parting me from it! The combo of car & club is unbeatable! laugh

Keeping for as long as it's possible too.

Can't think of anything better that I'd want to drive ( that's sensibly priced anyway!)

Had mine from new (1998) and keeping it, albeit nowadays locked in a garage and brought out once in a blue moon (just drove around the Swiss Alps where the car really came into its own!) The car is just too good to sell for the current asking price. Maybe if someone offered £7-8K I'd let it go but that aint gonna happen so its staying put. I've got a Clio Sport to run around in instead.

reading this reminded me of something i saw on TV about the guy who had a broom for X amount of years, it had 14 new heads and 7 handles, but it was still the same broom (apparently)

how many shell's and engines will you get through in a lifetime? lol

while i love the Marea, she wont be around forever. She is likely to have a respectable death into a tyre wall/armco, i would be disappointed if she was killed on the road by someone else.

im keeping my yellow20vt as ive too many fond memories and its a super car for very little money.

after changing engines and all other sorts of major jobs im going to get another and do a ground up restoration and have it in white!

at the current prices it would be rude not to!

I have only had mine (20v silver 2000) for about four months and I am already talking dreamily to the missus about keeping it forever! It's bloody brilliant! Would love a 20vt but could only see that been an addition as a wknd car rather than a replacement.
