I bought a 35W 6000k kit. The light output was poor and only similar to standard bulbs.

I changed it for a 55w 6000k - the difference was like night and day.

The colour on both sets was very nice though.

I have no experience of other temperatures.

IMO I would recommend not to use 35Ws

Can you get 55W in slim fittings?

6000 is white

4300k is white, e.g. the same spec as what new BMW/Audi's use

5000k = white but not with the same amount of lumens compared to 4300

6000k = white but with a noticable blue tinge, should be a negligable difference of lumen output

8000k = pale blue


I've had no issues with 35w HIDS, there is a massive difference between them and standard bulbs. Of course, that will depend on the quality of the kit you have bought.
