Guys I have the rear mount ready for production but I am awaiting the other two mounts so that I can do one group buy giving people the option of which mounts they wish to upgrade. It shouldn’t be too long I am expecting the final prototypes by next week. If you are desperate you can remove the mount and unbolt the plate and turn it upside down, that should last you a month or two before it bends the other way

Yes, they have finished up the final prototypes and just getting a final costing for the GB. They have been busy as the racing season takes up a lot of time.

Looks very impressive.
When they supply the new front gearbox mount can they supply a new long 10mm bolt with it (even if they have to source it from FIAT)?
With the standard FIAT mount it's very easy to strip the thread if you don't get it perfectly aligned when fitting.

Mounts look very impresive...could you tell us what the difference in desigh beatween FR and CO , PLEASE? John(Tipoboy) mentioned about front gearbox mount bolt , that could be cross threaded , is that something VIBRATECH would do as well? Thank you very much for your effort to make it available, apreciate that!!!

We will also give the option of two stiffness’s one for fast road use and one for competition use. The competition one will be double the stiffness of the fast road and is recommended for regular track days/racing. The bolt can be purchased from fiat for about £2 if we use the same thread. If so I will dig out the part number when I get a chance if not a bolt will be supplied with the mount. I will look into this bolt as they often bend, looking for 12.9 tensile strength.

Would any of these parts actually be compatible with the 147bhp NA engine? If so, given the power difference, would the existing mounts still be subject to such extremes of abuse?

I'm pretty they are the same mount in the 20V. They will be subject to the same abuse and my guess will probably need changing also. Maybe Roger can confirm? Can anyone confirm that these mounts will fit a 20V, 16V or 16VT?

Sorry my mistake, the bolt is usually okay, it's the thread on the mount that I stripped by accident. Make sure the engine is perfectly lined up such that the bolt goes in easily, don't try and tighten it up by force if there is any resistance. The same goes for all bolts but the mount is very expensive from FIAT (not to mention international delivery!)

The point is , you dont know if the bolt is damaged before you skrew it out , it's better to have spare one handy , just in case. I've asked Fiat main agent PGS's arent avaiable and bolt comes with the mount , you cant buy them loose.

One additional question regarding the two stiffness… What stiffness is recommended for engines with >>400HP and a torque >500NM??? Is “Fast Road” sufficient for the additional engine torque or is there a recommendation from Vibra to use the competition stiffness??? My engine makes about 650NM – so far I do not have problems with a shaking engine and original mounts Only change in my car : Upgrade ENGINE STABILISER BUSH and I have another rear gearbox mount – it’s the Alfa 155 Q4 mount because of the 4x4 drive – The DES and PGS are identical… Therefore I would like to install a DES and PGS upgrade… only question is what stiffness… I want some “rest – comfort” – Therefore I would like to use the fast road, but if there is another recommendation of Vibra because of additional engine torque?! Thank you Juergen

The stiffness is more to do with compliance rather than strength. The material is good for high values of torque it’s just the feel. I would strongly advise fast road for any application other that regular racing.

Vibra Technics will be including the bolts as part of the package. I Just need the dimensions of the bolts for the PGS mount. Does anybody have one spare they can take a photo of and give me dimensions? Also confirmation of if they fit 16V 16VT & 20V would be nice.

I think it will fit the 16v / 16vt as these use the same mounts. I have put my name down for the gearbox one, so when i come to fit it, i can let you know. If it doesn't fit, it will be up for sale

Any confirmation on whether they fit the 20V NA? Just thinking it can then apply to Bravo/Marea 20V engines as well as the Coop.

I'm 99% the RGS will fit the 20V as it uses the same subframe. Just not sure about the DES & PGS.

I'm wavering yes/no as to whether to join the group buy (altho' it's only polling for now) since I have a few Q's
How long do the standard items tend to last, does it depend on driving style, type of driving, etc., or will they all be shot after 10 years or 100,000 miles? As far as I can tell mine are all still OK, what are the symptoms of failing mounts, just increased vibration, knocking?
I'm tempted to get them anyway, but not if they're realistically going sit in the garage for another 10 years until I need them?
Is everyone buying these only because theirs are knackered, or because they're going racing?

Dave it’s very common for these mounts to fail. Most of the coupes I have seen the rear mounts is bent, the right mounts the rubber bonding comes apart. If your mounts have never been changed before there is a high possibly that they are on their way out. What would really be nice is Roger to post his thoughts on the OE mount as he sees them more than anyone. You could always sell them after the GB as they will always be in demand

The last time I rebuilt my engine I fitted a TorqueItaila uprated upper engine mount and lower engine mount. I left the rear and gearbox mounts standard as there were no replacements at the time.
When I started the car I almost didn't recognise the engine sound at idle. Much rougher sounding and the whole car vibrates slightly. Once I accepted that there wasn't anything wrong with the engine I was happy as it sounds very purposeful.
I'm thinking of replacing the engine, gearbox and rear with this new set. I have a question though...
Are there any negative effects to putting stiffer, and taken to the extreme solid, engine mounts on the car?
Does the twisting action of the engine as it comes on and off load transfer to the bolts holding the mounts to the chassis and even the chassis itself rather than being absorbed by the rubber in the mounts.
I'm guessing that no damage is done to the engine itself as there are several cars where the engine block is part of the structure with no isolating mounts in between.
