I was having a look at Torquestats and viewing the most powerful coupes. All of the UK monsters seem to be disappearing!

Mattys went bang and JohnS' has gone too. Do Mavrics, Markus' and Barbz coupes still exist? Haven't seen Mavric post for ages. There are a couple missing from the 400bhp club that I can think of (westcoupe and squid) but will we have another 500bhp coupe?

Does Leighton now have the most powerful coupe in the UK?

Taz is missing too, just remembered.

Barbz still has his car doesn't he. He converted it to LHD too IIRC

Markus reverted to standard and sold. Barbz is kicking around with a GT28R setup, mainly for track use.

There are a couple of big power coupes in the works, and I certainly think the average "power" has gone up in the last year

350bhp+ is big power, 400bhp+ is "big power"... anything more is "Supercar" power

Mine is 420bhp & 416lbs of torque. I could get more top end power but at the expense of overall driveability.

Really big turbos make huge pub figures, but the cars are much slower on the track. I really like TurboJ's setup as his has very little lag & is great to drive.

If you really want to compare all the big power cars, the only way is to organise a rolling road day and compare them all side by side.

I really don't feel like I have lost much if any driveability since changing from my RS. When driving on track I haven't had any problems staying on boost except maybe a few times at Curborough which is VERY tight and twisty.

A big power RR day sounds like fun though.

Mine is probably the biggest power from a GT28r and standard engine 340bhp / 320lbs and i could turn boost up a fraction more and make 350bhp /330lbs, does this count.

So technically, what is the most bhp you could get out of a 20vt Coupe?

Most of the really big power Coupe's are 2.4 conversions with relatively big lazy turbos, using original block albeit with uprated rods and pistons etc you can get to 380 bhp with an RSR (see latest "Ultimate" thread) but I think's that about it.

Who manages that Hall of Fame page? I just had a look and it still has the figures from before my rebuild. I tried logging on but it must have a really old email address that I don't have access to any more.

Wasn't Markus' coop running something in the region of 410bhp? Was it a standard block with big boost and NOS?
Incidentally, he had another standard-ish '6' after that, which I bought.

Myself and Sheiks squeezed 344 at the fly out of a GT28R - around the same though!
