I think one big issue is being ignored- What would the insurance pay-out be on the car... If you can't get an agreed value then that would influence how much I paid for the car. Very good point. Ross

Edz....Car looks fantastic - best of luck with it mate I paid less than that for mine but if I was looking for an LE now I would not be put off by that price. Still say its an absolute bargain for the looks/performance/noise/style you get per buck. What else can you get for that money? Out of interest mate are the Turbo and Clutch uprated? Looking to de-Cat mine?

Stunning car Edz, stunning. It's the sort of motor that would tempt me back to coupe ownership. <I must resist, I must resist>

Wow....that is one good looking coupe. If i had £6k to spend on a car, this would be the one. Drop the front down half an inch (maybe 1 inch) and I think it would be perfect.

These cars are undervalued so i think its worth every penny really, i payed £2300 for my coupe about 1 1/2 years ago and i thought these cars were bargains when i started looking at buying one. strange how they are so undervalued, but i think those times will change. They were saying that about 4 years ago when I had my first coop.....the broom yellow one. Nothing has changed and they are still as cheap to buy and very expensive when things go wrong. Nice car though. Paul

Over £6000 ? I just paid £2000 for a 2001 and 56000 mile (how old is your pensioner and mileage ?) 20VT,leather and all the trimmings...in excellent nick as well. over £6000 for a coop....you are taking the michael. I tell you you what.....you are right about one thing, you will end up keeping this car. If you are not fussed on selling it,what are you doing advertising here at a stupid price that no one with any sense is going to even come close to offering ?

You got a bargain by the sounds of it good luck with your new car bet you wont sell it for 2k and as I know no FORUM member would of sold the above mention car for that price. My car is worth every penny of the 6k+ that I am asking And yes I am not fussed Its only lack of space that I have taken a chance of selling it

any need? it's all about opinions and, more importantly, who's willing to stump up the cash. in a buyers market it's only worth what someone will pay

Spit - The average price for an LE is £4000 for a good condition one. Edz coupe is Mint - and i can assure you there will be someone who will be willing to pay "near" to that for a mint coupe. Its a bit out of my price range to be honest Yes £2000 may get you a coupe that looks nice - infact even £1500... i will come back to the person in a year and ask them how much money they have had to spend.... If you are not fussed on selling it,what are you doing advertising here at a stupid price that no one with any sense is going to even come close to offering ? Some people buy cars on here for the passion of the car, i would feel happier paying the extra for a coupe that has been looked after. If someone slaps on a "stupidly" high price on their coupe then it shows me that they have cared for that car and have put a lot of money into it. I owned a 20v NA Coupe - They go for about £800... there is no way on earth i would have let it go for less than £2500. While that is 20vt money you would not find another car in any of the ranges in the condition that my one was for that price. Peorsonally spit i think Edz in denial and he will end up holding onto that coupe for ever lol Good luck with you car mate - and if you have managed to get yourself a mint one at that price - well you have done very well I guess at the end of the day its all about what people are willing to pay. . . so only time will tell on this one Spit we need cars like this to sell at higher prices. If people start to pay more for coupes then they will start to go up in value. Come on you must have seen some of the tat for sale on Pistonheads these days

As I said in my earlier post....I would definitely pay over £6k for this coupe. I am currently trying to raise £4k to buy my first LE (Had a few Coupe's but never an LE) and I am seriously considering holding off and saving a bit more to get hold of this one. The only problem is, when I get to the £5k mark and I have access to pretty much any decent LE up for sale, will I have the will power to keep saving......I hope so.

Chrissy Ask Flea....he just remapped it. If anyone wants to pay 6K for a coop...that's up to them. This is a forum and I am giving my opinion here.......no coop.....unless it's flea's and pushing out crazy power is worth over £6000 (in my opinion)

I dont want to start arguments But as the Only VINCI GREY L.E for sale with 18s In real nice condition I feel I can ask as much as I feel its worth. As I said you grabbed a bargain from someone who didn't know what they had, well done to you You grabbed a bargain in fact you stole at the price and well done to you. Like I said you wont sell it for 2k But Mario is right I doubt if I really want to sell it It look fantastic last night at the ACE Cafe everyone payed it lots of compliments

arguments are what forums are all about (sorry, heated discussions). Spit is entitled to his opinion and he did really well getting a sorted coupe with that mileage at that price, but the fact remains, several people on this thread have said they would pay £6250 for this coupe if they had it...in my humble opinion that means its worth £6250.
P.S. anyone got about £3k they want to lend me:)

No arguments here mate.....used to get into enough trouble here 5 years ago arguing It's just an opinion mate and not one that should be taken personally. If you can get 6K for it......good for you. Same as it was good for me that I got my coop for 2K. There is obviously no comparison between mine and yours.....I know that mate. Yours being worth a lot more than mine......

Car looks stunning, but priced not to sell is right IMO. It's true there may be someone out there willing to pay the asking price, but then there's people out there willing to give their bank details to Nigerian Generals!!!! Again and only in my tight fisted opinion, the price is right for the condition of the car, but only in ten years time. And that's assuming Europe, Japan and America have crippled the middle and far east, brought China to it's knees and are controlling the supply of global energy resources We have a tendency of talking about future classics as if the future of the internal combustion engine was secure. Chances are by the time coops have reached the heady heights of a truly rare classic, the only option of keeping it on the road will be to fork out another £30K on top of the £10k purchase price getting it converted to run on fresh air and the bleating breath of new born lambs.
