Hi all.
Just hoping to get an idea of value on my 20vt sprinty, without going into minute detail, most of the spec is listed below:
1997 P 20vt in sprint blue. 130k miles Almost full history, a huge box file worth, including stamps up to 100k-ish, the only things not having receipts are one or two mods and a couple of oil changes which i do myself, even then the receipt for the oil is normally kept.
Spec: Tuning: GT28R Turbo H&S 3" 5 stud downpipe, going into decat and full 2.25" stainless exhaust, Apexi air filter Pro Alloy tapered SIP Pro Allor replica (Timpyeons Groub Buy) Front mounted Intercooler 3.8 bar fuel pressure regulator, sonicly cleaned injectors FC Remap Greddy Profec B spec 2 boost controller
Handling: New front wisbones, droplinks and bushes replaced early 09. Koni adjustable's front and rear Whiteline 22mm ARB Rear radius arms fixed early 2008 Azev A 17" alloys DBA 9 groove discs front, with pagid blue pads. textar rear pads Refurbed Brembo calipers, including all seals - refurbed mid 2009 HEL Braided brakelines (complete kit) 5 paddle clutch
power at 1.35 bar: 321.6 bhp at powerstation in Jan 2009 297 Lb/ft
Other: Barnacle widget, flocked centre consloe, black leather interior, clock, heater and speedo rings, painted Rocker cover, Shiny fuel cap, HID lights on dipped and main beam, Red rear lights (as in sig pic, not painted either...)
Bad stuff: - Bodywork - laquer damage to the roof, initially started as a fractal pattern, but now becoming increasingly obvious. Stone chip damage to front some door edge damage Hole in rear bumper where exhast melted it (before my ownership) usual parking dings etc.
Ideally i believe the car needs an outer respray, some of you have seen the car at meets and events so have a rough idea of its condition.
Any rough ballpark ideas on what she's worth please i'd appereciate your input.
Thanks

£1500? Be better to sell the mods separately I would think. When was the cambelt done? If due soon, you'd need to deduct the cost of that too

Hmm, thats around what i was thinking.
I'm at a bit of a crossroads, I love the car, It needs some cash spending. Do i spend the money and kee the coupe for a few more years, or sell it, and put the money i get for it, along with the cash i would be spending into something else?
Its amazing when you think about it how powerful a car you can get for less than the cost of a telly these days, not just coupes either!

honestly, your best off selling the mods and selling the coupe as standard edit, keep the car, spend the money, you will fall in love again

True sam,
Hell, for the sake of £1500 i may be better off keeping off the road as a project, and just buying something else anyway.

unfortunately that's the price paid for modifications, I have dug my self a very deep hole with the coupe I have, The view is lovely from here however as I have no intention of selling
you will never back out what you put in to it, for the price there going for at the moment you may as well tuck it up for the winter, drive around in a winter hack and put the coupe back on the road with a nice spray job with the money you save.
Thats just my advice, But I have been in your position in the past to an extent

£1500 seems low to me, i'd expect near £2000. if nothing else this is a well sorted spec, yes needing some money spending, but where else will you or anyone get this type of fun, looks and power for that money?

I *think* £1500 was for it returned to standard selling the nice bits off. As the body work has a quantity of lacer peal on the roof I think 1500-1800 is, well not a nice price, but realistic in the current conditions

I think even with the mods, you will struggle to get much more than £1500 given the mileage and bodywork issues. Mods don't seem to add that much to the value, so you may as well sell them imo

£1500?? Even with its condition, a solid 300+BHP coupe will definately get some speed freak at your door for £2500,
1 Shabby coupe, £1200-1500 All mods to create a 320bhp coupe £2500+
So a bargain at £2500,
I would never sell for £1500, it would kill you at a later date buying a cheap 20vt, then ploughing cash to make it 300bhp+
Better off sorning it and saving till its affordable to keep and enjoy again,
If I had £1500-2k now, Id be knocking at your door!

Chrissy So even though you say it is worth £2.5k, you won't pay more than £1500-2000

Chrissy So even though you say it is worth £2.5k, you won't pay more than £1500-2000 UM, No Victoria, If hes clearly thinking of accepting £1500 for it, then even if I think its worth £7500, Im only going to bid near £1500 silly, Get it, Maybe he would push higher, Then Id come knocking upto £2000 But I think its capable of getting £2.5k See how this works? We'll see - I do not remember any early (P reg) coupe with 130k miles on the clock with rough bodywork selling for £2500 in the last 12 months, mods or no mods. Indeed, the unmodded ones fare better. Given the market, strip it or keep it are the best options imo. Also no mention of aircon or cambelt in the last 3 years either.
I am happy to be proven wrong so good luck

lol, ok, ok, every one puts different values on everything my workings standard 20vt's in "ok" condition are going for less than £1500 quid ok is for a coupe with some history, but a little rough around the edges http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1331601.htmhttp://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1322322.htmhttp://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1314820.htmnow the above have some body work issues. top doller for a good condition coupe (normal not plus LE) is 3.5k (go check) Its been pointed out that a respray is needed, You already have a bill for 1.5k there at least so 1.5k for the car, + spray job of 1.5k you got your magic mint coupe for 3k This is of coarse discounting the mods that have been put on, 1.5k is for the mods to be sold off for what ever and the car sold as standard for 1500-1800 selling the car with the mods, generally these will add very little value to the car unless your after it specifically for the mods. Most casual buyers will infact most likely see decats, large turbos, FMIC's as a turn off again, my interpretation of the numbers and information, if it was me doing it I would be stripping it as more money is to be had, I haven't priced up the mods but I think it could see 2k then the 1.5-1.8 for the car

Enough..... A car is only worth what someone will pay for it, you will only get someone to pay for it once you put it up for sale and someone comes along and pays something for it, then that something will be something in worth terms!! In other terms of whats it worth, its also worth how much you value it for, but beware as you may value it to what others would, as you value it more, as its your car and has greater value to you. You could price it up for what you want out of it, but bear in mind, if you price to high, then no-one will come along and give something for it as your value is greater than their value and your something becomes nothing! So to end, stop bickering like children and listen to me
