Mate, just checked you out on the power chart, 1.35 bar boost and nearly 370bhp, thats bloody good!
Whats your full spec?
When was your car mapped?

Now in the 400+ bhp club!

I actually mapped it a year ago in March, but didn't have chance to get it on the dyno then. Take a look here for more info

Leighton,

I just bumped into Paul Warner at the cash point and hour ago. He's sold his coop on now apparently (burning too many clutches and engine moints or something), but he's convinced he was running a GT2871R, not a GT2860RS 0.86. Do you know something he doesn't as I'm sure we spoke about this at some point...

F****** b****** thing...

Don't worry - my fourth place figure is on race fuel

He wasn't sure, the only thing I can go on is how the car performed i.e. turbo spool, and of course the mapping. There is really no discernible difference in power ouput between a GT28RS 0.86 and a GT2871R 0.64.

Nothing wrong with race fuel, the 2.4 lot quoted these figures for years tongue

Anyone that has had their car mapped by Leighton will know about "the call"

It always the call that you've been waiting for with equal measures of anticipation and dread - is it producing good power, or is there a problem.

My car has always been a right royal pain for Leighton - its NEVER gone perfectly, and this time was no different.

After fitting the 440cc injectors, one of the injector clips has broken - its secure enough for now but it'll need replacing.

then the bonnet cable broke, but only once Leighton had got all his cabling and sensors fitted rolleyes

Now the MAF is playing up a bit, so that needs doing.

However, when he put it on the dyno, it all became worthwhile

I'l let Leighton publish the figures, but suffice to say, I'm pretty happy laugh laugh

I'll post the full details tomorrow but it's most definately in the 400 club! The cold weather is certainly helping big power cars somewhat, but there is no question that Nigel's car is faster than ever, warp factor 9 at 4500rpm to the redline!

I reckon that it will be around 440, with the injectors nearly maxing out and that the 3" full exhaust has helped, even though Nigel liked to say that his Supersprint was up to the job wink

Begbie - you're right - while the SuperSprint was obviously capable of allowing about 400bhp, it was clearly holding me back

As well as the peak power, I'm mighty impressed at the figures at "everyday" boost - I tend to run 1.2 bar daily, using 1.5 as a maximum on the road and 1.9 for drag runs and TOTB. Leighton 'only' mapped it to 1.7 bar this time, as he said that's where the efficiency was - any higher and it wasn't really producing any more power (although I guess the torque was probably impressive)

C'mon Leighton - spill the beans....

(actually, he's doing another car today, so may not post for a while)

and the big question is... is this it for you or have you got more in the pipe line to do?

Nope - that's it

It's now spooling up very early (1 bar by 3,200rpm) and with the bigger injectors, there is now no drop-off until it hits the limiter at 7,300

Due to my ever-increasing overdraft and Leighton's persistence at overcoming the niggles, my car is now where I've always wanted it - huge, broad, usable power.

Next on my list is suspension (Gaz coilovers if I can find the cash) and some urgently-needed paintwork (rusty arches and rear quarter)

Glad you are where you want it Nigel. I'm happy with mine as well. I don't want to chase figures, I may one day get it on the rollers on a cold day to see if it would make more power. But at the end of the day it will still be the same car.
