After just over years of ownership I've gone and sold my coop cry

I just wasn't as happy with the Coupe as I had been and started looking on Autotrader and Piston Heads. I mentioned to my dad all the different cars I'd been looking at and a few days later he sent me a link to the same car that I really liked.

My dad persuaded me to ring up and find a little more about the car and turned out that the car wasn't 150 miles away as I thought, but less than 10miles. I ended up going to view it that evening and bought it there and then.

I'm not normally an impulsive person but I ended up buying myself an Audi S3

I ended up leaving it in the garage for a few weeks until I got a few issues resolved with the Coupe and was able to sell it.

I’ve now been driving it around for about a month and although it’s a really nice car, I REALLY miss the Coupe. I can’t really fault the Audi, the build quality is excellent, it’s smooth, is in great condition and despite having 111k on the clock still feels ‘tight’ if you know what I mean??? It’s great on the motorway, where I spend a lot of time but it just lacks so much character and individuality.

For example I parked up in work last week and either side of me was an A3, not the same model and one was a new shape but the only time I’ve ever seen more than two Coupes together is at a meet.

I’m going to have to keep the S3 for at least a year as I’ve just spent a fair amount of money on it with MOT, tax, service and tyres which I’ll never get back plus it’s going in for an ancillary belt change and Haldex service before Christmas too. However, I’m always browsing the coops for sale section so I will be back to Coupe ownership in the not distant future laugh

I can’t wait!

p.s. If anyone is thinking of selling a great condition 16vt, 20vt, LE, plus or 6 and wants an S3 in exchange, let me know wink

Seems to be the way.

If I ever decided to part with my Coupe for some reason (probably brain damage) then I would always buy the other car first and test it for a month.

With the Coupe you don't know what you have got till its gone I think.

They're smart, 'understated' cars but in typical german fashion pretty lacking in character etc, i was also quite disappointed when i drove one, theyre quick but you dont get the sense of speed like you do in the coop, bit numb to drive crazy

I'll be back smile

I drove a mates company S3 for a weekend years ago, and he borrowed my company coupe.

I must admit that with the 4wd it was a hoot drifting it through corners, and the handling was pretty good :-)

Still wasn't bothered when I swapped back into my coupe though.

Audi to me are like BMW, they make solid reliable cars.. some of them drive very well.... but they are so boring, common and have nothing to set them apart. Even a saab has more character imho.
