I have purchased the new engine which is being shipped straight to jonnybravoturbo who is doing the work for me. He is hopefully coming to fetch the car later on this week.
When the new engine is in, i'm going to take it down to flea to check the map and maybe rolling road it.
With a bit of luck it should be back on the road before the end of the month. Sweet!

It lives!!

Jonnybravoturbo got it started up today and has put 30miles on the clock with no reported issues.

On the phone he said "it goes well don't it!"

I'm over the moon.

The car has had a new engine, new belts, new clutch, new s/s braided oil cooler and all new brake lines fitted. As well as the new turbo, coilovers, and downpipe earlier on in the year.

So with a bit of luck i'll be driving her again soon!

Just to add, John has been absolutely excellent. A few problems have occurred along the way, and John has put in the extra hours and effort to get this car back on the road. Can't reccommend him enough. He knows a hell of a lot about the car and i will definitly use him again(hopefully that will get me a few quid off the bill!! wink )

All in all, i'm happy today.

Great news Matt, look forward to seeing it in action again! Also good to hear that there seems to be another Coupe specialist on the scene.

Thanks for the comments again guys, you've really kept my morale up!

Nello - no it isn't standard, its running around 350bhp (estimate, may be more, may be less). I'm right on the limit of the standard engine. If i wanted anymore power i think i would have to go forged for certain. The reason i didn't get a forged rebuild is simply due to the cost. I just can't afford it. I can do 3 engine swaps for the same price as a proper forged rebuild, so i'll risk it. It'll be reet!
