Yes, if you don't have it on your numberplates.
16VT and X1/9 1500
We must all do our part for the planet. I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Sam. You are going all that way and then missing Turin? One night in the Lingotto hotel is a must do for any Fiat fan like yourself. The St Bernard pass is a fantastic route over the Alps too On our last trip we stayed in Austria near Zell am See and then made out way through Italy (Via the lakes, Milan & Turin) to Switzerland. I would say that the most impresive Alpine scenery is in Switzerland, with the southern part of the Alps being the most impressive. The Matterhorn is stunning. Be aware that the Swiss & Austrian motorways require you to have motorway passes. These are quite expensive, unless you plan to spend a lot of time on them. Bob

A popular route is via the Milau bridge (Tallest Bridge in the World) and Monaco, but this is a mile hungry route. When in Germany Heidelberg is a nice place to stop. It's a scenic old German town and because it has an American Army base close by, the town is really English speaking friendly. Most restaurants even have English menus This place would be worth a visit and only just off your route. The Lingotto Hotel Hotel guests can get access to the old test track on the roof with fantastic views of the city and the Alps. If I think of anything more I'll let you know. Bob

thinking about, and talking to others today at the midlands meet, i think i'm booking here for the Thursday night prior to leaving from dover. i realise this would mean missing the drinks with mcmike and matt, but i cant face getting up at 5am, driving to dover via m25/dartford crossing to be there for 7am!! one accident and we could miss the ferry - so i'm probably going to book the canterbury one on this page >> http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_book/hotel_overview.php?hotel_id=22it's only £29 and 30 mins from dover - anyone else?

If you're thinking its got much there, you'll be mistaken. Its a hotel with a petrol station at the top of a hill in the middle of no-where. It is on the northbound side, so you'll have to back track on yourself slightly. Ideal for a bed basically.

Tbh, I've not noticed a pub but then I am usually going 70mph up the hill past it to a survey.
I know the one at Ashford (Kent) is similar distance to the one at Dunkirk (Canterbury) and has a lot on site - Beefeater, numerous fast food places and a cinema. I've stayed at the Travelodge myself and its clean.

Hmmm, may be an idea for me, it will save a 2 hour early morning dash to Dover. The Ashford one is £39.00 a night on that date.

Sorry about the question's guys. Ok read back through and spotted petep's comment on spectator tickets available in the new year.I would like to be in the paddock area possibly so may take the coupe for a blast on track(scary thought)
How are people sorting track insurance etc(if they are)?

There is no insurance, infact we all sign a disclaimer form when we book in for the track sessions. The best thing to do is make sure your car is in good order for the track.Look at the track preparation thread on the trackday section on this forum. I was very aware of being a newbie last year. But it was fine,do the speed that you feel safe at,watch how the others take their corners, and USE your mirrors. And the best bit is to jump in with Sparco,it will give you lots of confidance, after seeing what his car can do.

So what if someone stack it into a wall at the track etc?Liable? You can buy track insurance for days at a time cant you?why not? Sorry if asking silly question just never tracked a car before.
