Lots of people dropped out that day as well due to the weather.

Getting there J, I like the idea of running with no bonnet laugh

I see you get into 4th gear well before the line, I assume you are short shifting to keep in the powerband as your car peaks around 5800rpm?

I took the bonnet off not to save weight as its quite light compared to the coupe but to get rid of the heat. My engine was overheating especially in the queue. I think removing the bonnet messed up the aero as the car felt twitchy above 70MPH. I now know I need a bigger radiator as the Bravo one is far too small.

I was short shifting because I was trying different tactics as it was just wheel spinning. I even tried a few launches in 2nd gear and what a disaster that was laugh

Can't wait to try again in the summer its quite additive laugh

what were your 60ft times J? Sure you can knock 2 tenths on a warmer day!

On my last run in the summer with the 195 tyres I got a 13.4096 with a 60ft jump of 2.3054. This time in the winter with the 225 tyres I got a 13.1512 with a 60ft jump of 2.3326. So in the summer with the 225 I reckon I could pull a 12.8 or less.

yes you are right. I meant better weather. Although a warmer track will see you getting better launches.

Colder day will give the engine more power but a cold track means less grip. More power and less grip = high time with high terminal speed.

Hotter day will give the engine less power but a hot track means more grip. Less power and more grip = low time but lower terminal speed.

I have plenty of power so i can suffer a power loss for traction in order to get my sub 13.

ISTR that every 0.1 second off your 60ft is worth at least twice that off your ET - so - all you need is a BIT more grip off the line and you should break into the 12s

Perhaps you should go along on one of Santa Pod's 'tuner' days - there's only about 100 runners AND they treat the surface with the sticky spray stuff

Santa Pod prepare the track (sticky glue) for all their own events so both tuner and public days are the same. However, if you hire it out then it is an optional extra, and a costly one at that! When I did the Redline mag day there was no sticky stuff but still possible to get reasonable times.

I have a very accurate calculator that'll tell you exactly how much of a difference a 10nth (or any amount) will. Only thing is, when it's not on a website, no-one believes it.

I don't get all of this. What's the point of increasing your grip ratio just to chase a better time? Like you would on a dyno, keep the same conditions as you tune your car and measure the difference. I calulate that by increasing the grip of a standard 20vT to an amount that Flea/ Nigel have acheived on their best runs, would yield a 13.61s run @ 100mph (that's a 2s 60ft with the same performance thereafter of a normal 20vT!).

F****** b****** thing...

Whats the point in stripping weight, race fuel, drag/track tyres? Its about getting the best possible time.
