It's probably been asked before but as I cleaned the coup (and applied my new fccuk stickers!) at the weekend I asked myself the question. My instinct says no, couldn't be as good as the previous, sully the memory, enjoy having a "rare" car etc been the main reasons. But then I think what if it was as good there's not that many good looking affordable coupes out there and good versions of the current one will only become harder to find!
Would be interested to find out what others think.......

only if it was the same shape.
they could do a far better job with newer engine/gearbox/electrics, but the shape IS coupe.
any modern bubble attempt would be awful.

Yes, simply because it would reignight interest in the old one NO - we don't want interest reignited. This is a CLOSED club. The rarer - the better

Interesting idea about keeping the shape, a legend in the line of the 911 could be born!

Chavs will find the old Coupe affordable and we'll be inundated with "cruisers" and the like! Bad form! No new Coupe thanks Fiat, we like the old one! lol!

A new Coupe yes, but a retro throwback to our style of Coup, no thank you!
Lets see some fresh bold new designs, not redesigns of cars from the past.
Keep the spirit of the Coup - a bold stylish 4 seater that performs well, drives well and has plenty of soul.

When I become a millionaire I'm going to ask Fiat to make me a one off Coupe - with the design of the original and modern technology. That way, the Coupe will stay rare and I will have the best example in the world! one Coupe in the world that nobody knows how to fix when it inevitably goes wrong, apart from FIAT, who will take my millions back off me all too eagerly

i think chavs could afford the coupe now, it's the insurance, breakdown and repair costs that they couldn't afford. my coops cost me a third of what i bought it three months ago in repairs and renovations. i still wouldn't trade it in though, it's a labour of love, patience (a lot of) my hard earned cash. i still cant get used to £40,000+ car drivers giving way with a smile and checking the car out as i pass though, and random people stopping you in fuel stations to ask you about it. this car can bring a smile to your face just by walking towards it in a car park. how many car owners can say that? i dont think they should make another one though, if the new coop didn't squeak and rattle, freeze solid every winter, eat oil and refuse to start when you're in a hurry, it just could not be called a fiat coupe could it?

It would be nice to have the money to have the original coop, completely strip and rebuilt with all weak areas upgraded and corrected, in a similar vein to that done with certain marques such as the xjs jag.

I'd like to see a new Coupé. Possibly keeping one or two of the design queues from the original for continuity and heritage, but other than that an all-new design. For me it would have to retain the practicality too - none of this mk1 Audi TT backseat rubbish - because if not for this I'd never have owned a Coupé in the first place. Oh, and if it could be rear wheel drive...

I was thinking the very same yesterday when I went to Whittlebury Hall for a bit of golf practice...bloody freezing cold..even the auto driving range tees were out of action due to the weather.. Displayed at the Hall entrance are a couple of 'Fiat' banners, so there's probably a conference or exhibition of some sort going on in the main building opposite the golf clubhouse.. I'm going back tomorrow for more practice so will find out what's occurring.. Fiat have successfully reintroduced the '500', to a lesser extent the 'Bravo', and I'm sure they'd make an excellent new Coupé, hopefully without too many aerodynamic or style 'improvements' away from a perfect original

I would like Fiat to re make the original Coupe.
But they would have to do it properly. Adapting the current model much like 911 and installing new technology. No pathetic low power engines either. 300 BHP at least, same good looks with a few niggles worked out. With a FIAT badge not an Alfa one on it!
It is because of this that I know FIAT won't be up to the job of doing it in a respectful manor.

What a great post, especially the last bit, it's what gives the car so much character I doubt the new one would p*** water all over your arm after a wash/has been raining with the window open too haha

I think they should make another one.
As long as it is as good as the one we love then it cannot happen soon enough.

There have been new models resurrected from originals before, and if they were to re-produce the coupe like the Stratos reincarnation, then i think it would be a success; a modern looking legend of the past.
Its probably too soon though, seems even the Yanks have waited 30-odd years before bringing back their 'new' old skool motors, but by then we'll probably be running on lithium ion power!
This is how it should have come out of Torino!

Paul The 350 was no relation at all to the skylines though, the 350 was a throw back to the Z cars of old, 240, 260 etc and was actually a replacement of the horrendous 300...
