I’m working on the sticky dash at the moment. I’m slowly cleaning the stuff up, but is there a way to restore the original finish?

My method is using isopropanol to remove all the sticky mess, wipe with panel wipes and a couple of coats of satin black rattle can to give it that OE soft touch look.

I understand. The soft touch look. Has anyone attempted achieve the actual soft touch?

Yes owners have also applied Plastidip paint.

Worse case, just buy some hose from a local auto factors and thread it over the ac pipe
