Well, what a mixture of ups and downs !
We pulled onto the A19 this morning, hoping to see Jamjam on our way to the meeting point. 10 points to him, he was directly behind us ! His timing was brilliant ! At the services, I met James for the first time, along with his mum, dad and brother. They all seem Fiat or Alfa daft, so we've got the right person.
James' Black Mito is really nice. Plenty of little bits for him to attend to over the summer.
The weather has been dreadfully wet this week and the forecast was awful for today, 85% rain and likelihood of thunderstorms. The driveway into Newby Hall is long and winding. Not a car or person in sight. Has it been cancelled ??
Nope, half a dozen drowned rat Alfa Club guys guided us.
Not a big turn out, but about a dozen Fiat's, 25 Alfas, 2 Lancia. 4 maserati and eventually one Ferrari and one Lamborghini .
Being so small, with plenty of Yorkshire weather. meant that people were friendly .
Phil and I were the only Coupes this year, which was disappointing. I was hoping to meet up with two other owners and encourage them to join the club.
Phils pal in the Fiat 850 was to one side of us, and a multipla was on the other. The 850 won first prize and the multipla third. How the judges missed me in the middle, I'll never know.
The rain settled st lunchtime for a short while.
All in all, it was very enjoyable and the car loved it, even it does cleaning again.
