TI 2.4 Destroyer of Dyno's! #1427498

2013 has been an exciting year so far, especially till late. Just couldn’t resist putting up a little teaser of what’s to come… cool

Following the recent hysteria surrounding attempts to break 500hp :D, we have been making some major tuning advancements of our own, whilst others play catch up… tongue

We have just recorded the highest torque ever produced by a Coupe 2.4 20vt, on V Power! smile

No need for ‘tricky dicky fuels’ to massage those ego’s here, just raw unadulterated power.

Brief spec list.
TI 2.4 on 2.0L block. (Identical to Marvics platform)
TI Stage 3 SMALL VALVE HEAD C&B cams
TI Gt30 86ar INT WG hybrid
3.5inch exhaust.
DTA ecu
Figure
461hp 537trq @ 4500rpm Tickling 1.7bar, before dyno was overwhelmed. crazy

Our two main goals this year;

500hp @ 1bar, on pump fuel.
500+trq, on pump fuel.

Both challenges were conquered comfortably on standalone ecu's. thumb

Watch these spaces closely... wink

Sounds very good. Having been absent from the forum for a while, there does now seem to be some rivalry going on with Power Figures these days.

You guy's should be commended for your dedication for sure.

But it does leave me wondering about what is best for the normal guy who isn't really interested about being the fastest most powerful dude in town?

What I would like to see is more write-ups about fuel saving, power gains for sensible expenditure, reliability, the most reliable and proven mid range power tricks (300 bhp), how this aspect can be improved, what you guy's think about it, what gives better torque at this end of the scale, so on so forth. Something along the lines of what F1ANG posted earlier.

That, to me made more interesting reading than who has gained the most bhp for a forged monster coop! Though, this stuff is interesting to read, it's just not necessarily relevant to most folk I would imagine.

What's the lastest info and best methods for the above? Your input is vital for people like me, I need more informed guidance on this stuff and it would be great to know ....and I am sure I'm not alone.

Maybe this info is out there and I missed it? If so, I apologise and would appreciate a pointer via a few links.

smile

Sorry to say Phil, but you're in the minority. laugh

Personally I think it makes for the most interesting reading.

Hi well done barbzs And every one involved.

Top job

Patch as regrading f1ang coupe it's brill barbzs did the magic in that just drop him a pm with what you want he will advise you the best mods for you which are tried and tested.

I had a 300+ bhp coupe which barbzs did for me and it was faultless in every way and at a price I couldn't believe. Used less fuel due To head work and his magic.

Can't wait for my stand alone to go on my monster.

That's what I like to see, Barbz: big torque with little boost!

Anyone can throw a bunch of psi at a car to get some 'nice' dyno figures, but it takes real tuning skill to build and tune an engine that can make big power and torque with less boost.

Well done to you and all involved thumb

Yep laugh it was still rising too when the dyno decided "thats enough" lol laugh

He's now waiting on a new, much larger dyno being built, its almost finished, so won't be long.

Eh? Fuel saving? In Tuning? I can give you some tips on fuel saving. Sell the coupe and buy an F30 320d ED. Impressive little beast. The OBC was registering 60mpg in town.

On topic. Congratulations Barbz. Bet that's fun. smile

Well done Barbz.

Phil have a look at my results in the project area. With a TI built block and TI stage 2 head and the off boost mpg is amazing. But I didn't buy a coupe with mpg in mind tbh laugh

Lol, nor did I Paul, but, what I want to establish is the best mods for mid power (300 bhp or so) will give me the best bhp, torque and miles per gallon?

Maybe I see things a little differently than most, but I want to have it all ... more power and less trips to the petrol station, what mods work best for this?

I'll shut up now, as it seems that from my initial post I made a mistake, It's a minority ...... me frown

Will check out your posts, cheers.

Sorry for jumping on your thread Barbz.

Not at all Phil, same place where i would like to be with my coupe.

Lets start a thread. Hopefully get all input there.

Well done. Another big result for coupes.

Nice to see a couple of big hitters coming through regardless of fuel.

Hopefully you guys get on a track soon and make the most of these vehicles.

Now we need a big powered na!
