On Monday, Motormech fitted a T28 hybrid (62mm compressor) and full stainless exhaust (including decat and 3" downpipe - albeit limited initially by the v-band). I already had PA FMIC & SIP, Apexi, Blitz, Walbro and direct feed.

I spent yesterday in Bristol while Flea mapped my car. The drive home was fanatastic ... he has totally transformed the car! It absolutely flies now ... pulling through the gears like a train, with a lovely wide torque band laugh

So, before Leighton posts the results, any one care to make a guess at my new peak BHP and torque? Bear in mind, he and I both think it will suprise some laugh

(And of course, I must give a big thank you to Leighton ... he's a top bloke who can do wonders for your car thumb )

I reckon that dyno will give 320-330bhp for a maxxed out hybrid turbo. I challenge you to find another dyno that will corroborate it though wink

are you suggesting the figures are false, or massaged, in some way trappy?

In no way am I suggesting this. I've just received conflicting results on a subsequent dyno run at a different location. After all, it's entirely possible that the other dyno I used is under-reading!

Forget the comment, let's not spoil dave_t's glory with a dyno row! Besides, I never did get to get my GTiR on those rollers so it'd be good to see what a hybrid can do smile

I'll call it 327bhp, 305lbs/ft.

Yes ... on V-Power, and at 1.35bar smile

Trappy,
I don't think there's any way to sort out that perennial issue laugh
I'm just happy that its done on the same rolling road as everyone else, so it gives some level of comparison smile

The important thing with dyno figures is the comparison of the first run and the final. All dynos give diffent figures and even tyres pressures can make a difference to the readings

Dave - Paul told me the figure when I was at Motormech this morning - I bet you can't wait to get it on track again to see how the extra power affects the way the car drives on the limit

I think you'll now find that your chassis will be your limiting factor - it will be interesting to hear how you get on

I think you'll find your vision slightly impaired from the poke in the eye I give you will be the limiting factor if you don't give the figures already, you big tease! laugh

Very impressive result, are you going to take it for a 1/4 run sometime?

whats your 60-100 time in 3rd gear? Not talking about torquestat calculations, wondering what you get on the (private)road for comparisons sake?

Cheers

Davie

Birthday celebrations and Mothers Day have got in the way of me replying rolleyes

I think flyingcustard was the closest ... almost spot on ... a great guess! (Although I would have been happy with TurboJ's guess laugh )

And I'm amazed that people were guessing (what I consider to be) relatively high levels. It must be something to do with the magic that people believe Flea can weave laugh

Nigel,
Yes ... it's going to be interesting to see how much I've upset the balance of things.

The car was very driveable before these latest changes, although I always thought it could benefit from a little more power. TBH, I was only expecting 300-310bhp from the upgrades though!

As you say, it may be that there is too much power for the handling setup now. I'm only running a fairly basic set of upgrades on that front.

I'll post how I get on at Silverstone next Friday (although my main/ initial concern is that I'll be eating brakes even faster now!)

Davie,
I've never done a 1/4 mile, but might now have a go just to see what the car can do (or, more likely, how badly I can screw up a launch!)

I'll have to try a 60-100 time in 3rd, and let you know how it gets on. The car feels startlingly fast through the gears though. Most of the drive back from Bristol was spent trying to keep the car to legal speeds!
