Thats Mavric's 500bhp coupe. I think Flea has done an 11.9 1/4 mile but with a slightly higher terminal speed than Mavric.

Yes both 16vt and 20vt have been made. CoupeIntegral has a 16vt in the projects section and there are 20vt4x4 in both the RWYB and the tuning section 4x4 16vt drag race ,my bad that's a 16

Are you not going to make sure everyone knows you were a couple of thousandths quicker?? Everyone knows that I'm sure, but I'm not sure if everyone knows that I was the first and only to do back to back 11 second runs That record has stood for too long now. It has, the closest in the last couple of years has been Westcoupe and yourself with a 12.5 and 12.7 respectively. It's not going to be easy to break that record without some significant measures. The problem I have is not wanting to change from a road car to a dedicated racer. For me it has to be done in full road trim save the tyres, so it's pretty much relying on raw grunt to get the job done!

I may have a good crack next year. If I strip it out, with some slicks and race fuel. I may get close. And of course lots of practice, I'm still a novice on the drag strip.

And my 12.38 in 2008, although I was a bit stripped out (seats and all the boot lining)

Well if civics and bloody old tigras can do 10 second 1/4 mile times, then surely someone in a coupe turbo can get a mid 11 or maybe a low 11??

Fastest ever 1/4 mile? Does anyone know? What sort of bhp? Jules The all time quickest 1/4 mile ever recorded was by stunt woman Kitty O'Neill in 1977 at an incredible 3.235 seconds @ 412.50 mph. Although I reckon that this looks quite fast too: Somebody switch it off!!!!!

I do think 11.94 is a great time, but think the fastest guys should be a little quicker really, a fully stripped and well lightened coupe project car needs to be built! ;-)

this may be a silly question (or 2) as i know nothing of quarter mile runs etc..its just a matter of interest for me and of no import in the grand scheme of things ..an answer would be apreciated none the less. is it possible to get under 13 with less than 380 bhp and 350ftlbs with a relatively small turbo (rsr)? and would comp ratios affect your likely times all else the same ..i mean would same car say with 8.1 be likely quicker across the quarter than the 9.1 set up...i understand there are many other factors involved but lets say with a competent 1/4 mile driver at the wheel..

The answer to 1 = yes.
The answer to 2 = no, not really. The compression ratio on a turbo engine drastically changes how the car is mapped, and how it behaves off/on boost. To say that a car is faster or slower over a 1/4 due to compression ratio is more than a bit contrived.

thanks suba..maybe if i explain myself better ...i am trying to grasp which would be the best way to achieve a good 1/4 time all i know is that the higher comp gives a little more off boost i am not sure about the difference on although i would like to know..i can understand how it would be better to have slightly lower comp in order to run higher boost /bigger turbo in order to use the turbo to make the bigger power...my interest is more in which way you would achieve a better result over a small distance like the 1/4..by using higher comp smaller quicker spooling turbo or a lower comp bigger turbo more boost... do you see what i would like to understand better? it would be nice if rather than just getting an answer i could get an explanation...also what are the advantages and disadvantages of higher comp say 9.1 when on boost... can anyone fill my spongelike mind with a good laymans terms answer

quite high i think but thats one for flea..i do think i once heard him say it could run 1.9 efficiently but that is probably a low gear or overboost situation? or i have completely missunderstood (as you can tell i am not an engineer)i may be talking out of my a**e here my memory and grasp of technical issues are not great
