As above. i will be having the oppertunity to take the coupe out of action for a week or two as i am moving closer to work again, and wanted to clean up the head and coil cover etc. I also have a load of computer stuff to polish up too. I have the use of a glass blast which is a god send, so any heavy work getting the real grime off is made redundant on my pc i have used the glass blast to remove paint etc, then 400 wet/dry 800/wet dry and about to go to 1200 wet/dry. what is after this stage? i have seen a few polishing kits on the bay with putty and metal polish. is it worth getting one of these sets? wehat do yo use for the really fiddly areas? not sure if to paint/plastic coat the cam cover, and polish the centre, as i do not think i have the patience to get the finish i need around the fiat coupe lettering on the top. Thanks, Adam

For small pieces it might be worth getting something like this:

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?id=55252&ts=63212

and this:

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?id=39348&ts=63250

but I haven't used them, so can't comment on how good they are. It just might be easier than holding the tool and workpiece, this way you can have two hands on the workpiece.

I polished up my fuel cap quite successfully just with a metal polish (Autoglym). Sand it down with wet 1200 grit paper until it is uniformly matt and then use the polish to restore the shine . The polish tends to go black very quickly, but just take your time and reapply it when it gets too dirty to see what you are doing.
