Hi all,i am currently refurbing my engine bay. I was reading through patch and jas cleaning thread the other day and would like to know what stuff was jas useing to clean the engine bay,plus where can i get this from??

Also what stuff should i use to get the black pipes to shine really nice,and where can i get this from also??

I would be gratefull for any advice on the above or in general.

Auto Glym bumper care is superb on black plastics and rubber.
It lasts much better than the spray on treatments when on the car and works out a lot cheaper too as you don't use much.

Hi James,

For general cleaning of the engine bay I use Meguiars All Purpose cleaner in Meg's own "foaming" spray bottle, with a 25mm dia long-ish bristled brush:

Megs APC
Spray Bottle
Brush

For particularly grimey areas a firmer-bristled brush may be better:

Firmer Brush

For treating the black pipes, both preserving them and making them all nicely shiny, I use 303 Aerospace Protectant:

This stuff is great on B Pillars, Rubber and engine bay pipes!

Works a treat in my opinion
