Hi all, I have just had my rocker cover and strut brace polished and also picked a heatshield that was done by someone else!. What would be the best stuff to use to keep it nice and shiny and maybe make it shine even better? I fitted my rocker at the weekend and gave it a polish with some autoglym metal polish that I already had,but it seemed to put sracthes into it?? Any advise on this please......

James.

What cloth are you using bananaman? Some fabrics are more abbrasive than others and can cause light scratches.

Continue to work in the Metal Polish with a good cloth as Kelv suggests, this will remove the scratches for you eventually.

Then get your hands on some of this CLICK

Good luck and post some pics when done thumb

i use meguires metal cleaner as it is a non abrasive, autosol and ag are both abrasive i think. As kelv said some cloths can also be abbrasive and scratch.

Patch I am going to start a thread in the project section when I get the chance with pictures and description of what i am doing and plan to do over the years to come. If you are still going to brooklands on the 1st of may, that's what I am trying to get the car ready for you will get a good look there, for those who are interested!!

DanH,I was looking at that meguires the other day!. I may give that a try thanks. I also seen some other stuff called blue job,at first I thought it was a joke with the name and everything lol,but that looks like really good stuff, bit pricey though for not a lot!

Thanks James.

Lacquer them the same as you do with paintwork then you never loose the shine from the metal and you just have to polish the lacquer like you would polish your cars paint work
