Well, this is the first morning where: a). The outside air temperature in the morning has been above eight degrees centigrade. b). The sun is shining. c). It isn't raining, snowing, hail, thunder, lightning, or blowing a gale! d). Mrs Stan doesn't have a list of "wee jobs" to be done....yet! e). My back isn't sore enough to stop me walking.....yet! So, the winter cover is off the car, the dehumidifier in the coupé has done a good job of keeping the fungus at bay, and the engine bay still looks good. Now I just need to throw some nice fresh petrol down her throat (the coupé, not Mrs Stan's, although... ) and charge up the battery and cross everything! At least if she doesn't start she'll still be clean, the coupé that is, not Mrs Stan!

Battery charged, everything that I could check, checked, battery hooked up, and then that tentative turn of the key and after a six month sleep........oh that lovely burble of the Cybox exhaust! No faults indicated by the Widget, everything with normal limits, and she moves, steers, stops just like she should do! That burbling five pot filling the air after six months, better than winning a tenner on the lottery!

I got out in the sun today and fixed my low idling problem, then went for a nice drive with the roof down, it's great having a car with a completely blank "to do" list.

Uncovered mine on Friday, again after six months under the cover. Then cleaned the mould spores off the seatbelts, sun visors and other bits before going to work in it. Got home Saturday morning and after some breakfast changed the leaking cam cover gasket and replaced a couple of bulbs. I was too tired to wash it so took it to the local eastern european car washers. Today it participated in its first meet of the year

Who said losing I was a whisker away from £800, but got £270 anyway Sorry, just checked, actually got £350 - don't you just hate me Not really. I lost £8. The missus won £9, so she bought dinner, which cost £20, so I'm up on the deal Everything's relative !

I got up and tidied the house. Managed to get my daughter out of her pit by noon, after some raised tones and a little grief. Did some dishes. Did a grocery shop, planted up my hanging baskets and window box. Put one load of washing away, hung another load out. Still have a second load to hang out before bed. Made a roast chicken dinner. Did the dishes. Made stock with the bones. Peeled potatoes, carrots and onions for chicken stew tomorrow. Sat on the front step for a while having a fag and a can of ginger beer and looked at the coop and thought this would have been a beautiful day for a drive along the coast.

Know the feeling BJ.
Holidays, work, a service and headlight conversion mean I've only done about 100 miles in mine in the last couple of months. Got a week off now though and the forecast is dry - so can't wait to get out and have some fun in it.

Must admit, Saturday was the first day it was warm enough to consider some washing and polishing. Thought about that a lot as I sat outside the local.

Thats' it! I'm going to try and open my bonnet this week, get the battery on and have her MOT'd and taxed for May Am really missing her now as she's been off the road since October!
Last edited by came2dance; 12/04/2010 14:45. Reason: will not be SORNing her again. BlOOdy stupid idea IMO :D

New battery went on mine yesterday - started first turn of the key. I'd forgotten how loud it was (and mines not a loud coupé) Booked in for MOT today and will tax from May onwards, can't wait. Drove it from it's parking place onto the drive and gave it a nice wash forgot haw many dings and scrapes it had Washers were't working very well either so I thought I'd better sort them out before the MOT. Ended up removing the scuttle panel so I could check out the plumbing and guess what I found One of the tubes had worn through and 80% of the water was going onto my pollen filter THAT might explain the misting up problems I've been having Well orf to fix it now. MOT at half ten (Garage is 10 minutes walk from my house but I'm going to have to drive the long way round)
