I am going to change brake discs front and back and
just front pads.

I need performance pads so I can brake faster and sharper.

Was checking out the red and yellow stuff pads

anyone know much about these? or
if any other make of pads are good

The discs are performance aswell drilled and grooved made by Motorsport tuning & engineering company

Yellow stuff are good but pagids may be better (and a lot more expensive).
I have yellow fronts and textar rears to fit which I know others have used and recommended.
If you check the group buys,Steve will be doing another run on yellow stuff pads soon.....very good value too.

If you want real performance, look up the ongoing DBA/ Brembo / Pagid group buy with Competition Braking Products.

They might be a little more expensive but will give you arguably the best preformance using the standard brembos.

Yellow stuff are great. It needs abit of temperature to get them working to their max potential though.

Reds are rubbish for day to day. They need to be pretty hot but then they are very good.

Yellows need to be even hotter to work! I thought red stuff were the 'road-friendlier' versions.

Depends on what your 'Works from cold' expectations are. Ofcourse it works or i would be dead by now. You just won't get the same level of bite as say a standard pad when cold.

EBC have changed there pads this year (yellow stuff) so are now homolagated for the road (they weren't before) which is why a lot of yellow stuff are turning up very cheap.

They say they now stop as good if not better than red from cold but with a lot of cars they are twice the price.

Steve

All round i used to hate the red and greens.Rubbish.
Yellows,wow what a difference.
Last forever and don't warp discs as it seems.

I cooked a set of mintex pads in 4 hours at donington park and a set of red stuff rears at Silverstone.
Both were new about 500 miles before the track day.
And im not particuarly hard on the brakes.

??? I don't understand your post. I was just pointing out that I personally don't like the Reds fitted front and rear to my car as they are not really suitable for daily driving. My post was in response to the OP who asked about Red stuff.

I'm really confused as what he meant by it. It has a distinct note of "I told you so" to it which I don't get. I can't see another reason to his post. I know the limitations of my brakes as I drive with them.

Well all cleared up. A couple of Pms between Spit and I and it was all a misunderstanding.
