what i was going to do was get the hard pipes made up of stainless exhaust pipe which is alot better then most soft stuff you get with intercoolers. But the pipes stayed put.
If you can find a place with the tool that puts a bead on the edge of the pipe your sorted

depends on the type of stainless but im not sure anyways you would have to go to an exhaust place.
But if you can put a bead around the hardpipe that its blowing off from that will sort the problem.

Have also been wondering about this issue as I am now sorting out the pipes for my intercooler (Evo 6) The answers seem to vary some what from using hairspray as an adhesive to proper beaded ends. I have also come across this website recently Clicky I was talking to a fried at the weekend who said if I sorted the pipework out he would weld all the pipe together and more interestingly, run a line of weld around the ends to create the lip where the hoses will need to go. The hardest part i'm finding is finding out what pipes i need, there is a How to but all the links are dead now Let me know how you get on, what intercooler have you got?

could run a weld around them but thenm you might as well just weld all the pipes and be done with connectors & joins!!
i got a FMIC from Motormec random part clear out!
should be fitted before brooklands!

Exhaust pipe will be a lot heavier, I'd just weld the intercooler pipes, or use better jubilee clips?

i also use them i also gave the pipe a little grind (about 2inch) just to make it ruff for extra grip when clamp tight.

just to bring up an old thread, would it be *safe* to bend the end of the pipe back to flange it and fit the pipes??
i mean put sone small cuts/nips in the end and flair it out?

I have used circular pipe clamps and I made the tool in the post above.
It works really well.
Shouldn't have any problems blowing off now

yea ok matey, i still got to change the route from left hand side (turbo outlet to intercooler) as aircon gets in the way to run on topof the subframe.
I need to get sharp u bend to run pipe behind intercooler then down under to turbo.
currently the pipe is less than 3" of floor.
O and i had to chop loads of bumper away lol
