If a set where to come up for sale how much would then sell for ? Would just be front and rear seats plus the arms rests (that go on the door cards). Wouldn't include the steering wheel or the gear knob ?

I doubt there can be that many cars with the airbag recaros around, were they only on Plus models?

How can you compare a shed of a coupe to a set of seats ? Will you have to renew the suspension on seats... No.. will you have to pay for a new turbo/clutch/cambelt for my seats... No.

If you want quality you have to pay for it I am afraid, everyone is welcome to go for a standard coupe with a set of standard seats/wheels. For those that have sat in them they will know how good a set of recaros are.

Turbocharged seats. Sounds interesting!

You didn't expect a relevant comment from spit did you? More chance of finding a decent set of airbag recaros for sale.....

But even so? £800 is a lot of money.

I could never justify spending £800 on some seats - £800 on an engine replacement, etc then yes but just for a set of seats? I don't think so.

But then, if someone is willing to pay £800 then it goes to the old addage of 'something is worth what someone is wiling to pay for it'.

for a start spit as sugarbear has said you cant compare a shed of a standard 20vt to a set of rare seats that are the air bag recaro's, just because you can pick up a standard leather interior or £60 off of ebay doesn't mean these will go for the same price.

my question to you is have you been in a coupe with air bag recaros in? if you haven't, when you do you'l see and feel the £800 and know the money was spent well, also there only going to get more rarer and more expensive.

You'd be advised to make up (or have made) a bracket to fit standard the 20vt, else you'll have no real market for them.

Assuming you have that then it's down to condition:

Cracked, need a re-trim really: 400 (if lucky)
Not bad looking but obviously worn: 500-600
Perfect A1 condition, obviously been driven by an anexoric: 700-800

Obviously you only get the top price if you're prepared to wait, you could knock as much as £200 off those for a quick sale.

Have you changed your mind about selling your car though?

I am sure you just wait for me to post and then post some idiotic comment (this is not the first time either) which you think is smart.....and it's not really.
Who are you trying to impress ?
You are like a vulture.
What is your problem ?
I still think £800 is a tad expensive for second hand seats so there.
BTW.....the OP asked a question and I gave an answer.

You didn't answer the question though, you gave an irrelevant answer that annoyed a couple of people, hence their posts back at you on this thread.

Agree with Theresa, you havent actually answered the question.

I think they are worth that money, if they are in A1 condition.
They are rare and they are recaros and most importantly they will transform the interior of the car!

At AutoItalia, they were selling 1 Ferrari seat, just 1 seat, for £750!

So a full set of airbag recaro leather with red stitching for £6-£800 isnt bad.

Also Spit, id just like to add, if you look in the parts for sale thread, countrycruising has just sold a set, exactly the same, for £800!

So, you cant say they dont sell for that money, coz, they do!

That is my opinion
sorry for not agreeing with you all and good luck with the sale.
Next time you ask for peoples opinions.......you should also add that unless you agree that these are worth so much.....don't bother posting.
Again......THIS IS MY OPINION.....NOTHING MORE crazy
It seems to be that unless you agree with the "in crowd".....you will get chastised.

Spit its the way you word things ok and when people ask for opinions they don't expect an answer like you gave. A simple "I don't think there worth that much" would of done nicely.

Everybody's opinion is valued and its good to see people are posting there opinions but like i said theres ways of saying things.

surely opinions in this case are fairly irrelevant seeing that Joe sold them for the asking price of £800 pretty quickly - i'd suggest that's;

a - the going rate

b - value to that buyer

end of, really, despite all the vitriol from the usual suspect(s) laugh

in crowd, my arris....

Spit, I dont mind you having an opinion. Like everything in life some wont pay that much, some will.

An Omega watch can tell the time just as well as a cheaper Casio can. Some people will pay the premium some wont.

Back on topic, I have sat in all three seats (and the carelli's) and if I had the money and wanted the best set I would choose the airbag recaros. Carelli's only for track day work, they just are not practical enough for an everyday seat unless you happen to be a gymnast.

and yes I am just weighing up my options at the moment. A red plus sold for £1700 with bodywork and engine problems. An ebay car sold for £3300 with bodywork problems.

I have a really nice plus (that would take absolute minimal work to make mint, which I may do myself), perfect wheels/tyres and a brilliant engine, private number plate, 6 month tax and mot and I have the feeling that I am giving it away.

The only problem I have is finding secondary insurance cheap enough to let me drive it, hence my decision to sell instead of letting it rot on my driveway.

Decisions...decisions...

I did try them actually coupedummy, but they would not touch me, as my car is modded.

Any others that are known for doing the old classic car/limited mileage thing?
