Sprinty VIS project 2009Well the story goes like thisMy misses was looking for a new car and didnt want to spend more than 6K, so i offered to find and restore a 20 valve n/a coupé for cheaper. she alway said she liked my coupé (Sprint blue 20vt) so why not have one.
Well for a start we had to find the right one, it was either going to be a ink black or steel grey, that was until a nice looking sprint blue VIS model (didnt know they made any in sprinty) coupé came up to FCSS while i was there with an idle problem,so
then the hunt was on for another
.
So the list was made between me and her of stuff that needed doing by xmas this year.
1.had to be a VIS (because i like the idea of the inlet system)
2.had to be sprint blue, ink black or steel grey
3.LE kit
4.full respray with glass out
5.leather intior
6.brembo conversion (RED)
7.oilcooler conversion
8.as reliable as possible.
9.Push button start
In November last year my regiment (im in the forces if people didnt know ) deployed to sunny Afghanistan
for 6 months so not much searching was done while I was out there.
Then Joe (countrycruising) pm'd me in the new year saying the sprinty I saw up at his place is up forsale and did I want him to have a look and work a deal.
Perfect I said just grab it and we can start the work when I get back.
After doing the 6 month tour I got back mid April to find out the misses was going to work on a cruise ship so I wouldn't be seeing her much,
so there would be more time to work on the 3 project cars I have at the moment but more to make sure hers will be finished by xmas.
Pics off of the forsale thread So the work has started so far its had a full service, a very expensive valet, a set of refurbed plus wheels and a motormech stanless exhaust (which I found hiding at the back of joes unit)
So next on the list in a set of lowering springs (fitting this weekend), welded subframe (she wants to do some track days with us and its anything to keep her out of the trees lol), brembo and oil cooler conversion.
some more pics 08/7/2010
well not to much to add over the last few months, its now

Recaro 6 speed leather

new rocker cover gasket
new wheel bearing
new topmounts
il add some pics when i sort my photo bucket out.
