As I've got to lay my Coupe up for a couple of months grr can anyone recommend a good fitted car cover, I park my coupe under some trees and I'm getting a bit fed up with every nook and cranny being filled with leaves, twigs, moss, bird sh*t etc

Many thanks.

If it's really only a couple of months, maybe even the argos covers would be fine? They're cheaper after all. That said, a long period of time and the sun and elements will rot the cover.

DONT buy an Argos Cover. Some of our best customers are those who have had bad experiences in the past normally with a cheap cover...

I had problems with a cheap car cover made of thick grey polythene.
Firstly it seemed to seal the moisture in, but the biggest problem was where the polythene was left in contact with the car the paint discoloured leaving white marks.

If you have the space a car tent is a really good option.

I read that you should go for a cover is microfibre inside as the cheap plastic ones will scratch the paint work everytime you take them off... is this true or a little too much paranoia?

Some of the worst covers we have experienced have been from a major uk motor dealer. Apparently they have a sticker on them saying "Do Not Use With A Soft Top" because... when it rains the cover basically is only water resistant and as the water seeps through the cover it brings the waterproofing agent with it, soaks into the soft top and stains it permenantly... their solution? put towels on the car first, yeah right, towel gets wet, then holds moisture againsts the car, nightmare.

The best are a non woven brushed. If its towel like it holds moisture and the dirt and dust clings to the fibres so over a period of time becomes a dirt magnet.

For everyday / frequent use you need a lightweight cover as you arent going to be able to clean and polish your car every time you go out it in or come back from work.

Longer Term outdoor storage you need a heavier duty one but as the cover is going to be on the car for longer periods, its important to make sure the car is clean first.

The other issue is the fit. If its Small, Medium or Large then it isnt going to fit a coupe well.

We have also noticed some sites where it ask you specific details about your car, does a search then comes up with "medium", lots of chancers out there who wont want to know you as soon as you call and tell them the cover doesnt fit.

Glad you found the Coupon Code and many thanks for the order, Im sure you will be very happy with it. Comes with a 2 Year guarantee.

Takes a day or so for the creases to fall out, ideally needs a good soaking.

Sure it won't take too long to get one of those rolleyes

My old cover is rather old and has started to leak. This has resulted in water ingress into the car this winter, from the boot area I think confused

I am going to stick one of those dehumidifiers in the car this winter yes

If these people are the same as cover zone (and they sell the same products on a very similar website) then I bought one of their most expensive cover - the Stormforce.

Did not fit, hard stuff on the inside, "lost" when returned, denied it had been signed for. Practically had to threaten legal action to get my money back - at which point the cover was "found".

Hope others have more luck, I certainly did not.

When I receive the cover I will do a complete fitting test with pictures etc.

I know that there are a good number of folks on here who want a good fitting cover for their Coupé, hopefully this one will fit the bill cool

We are NOT Cover Zone

Not sure what issues you had with "Cover Zone", If you sent it back for whatever reason and it was "signed for" then why would anyone claim or be able to claim it hadnt arrived? Red Slip signed for by the post office is a non trackable service until it arrives and is signed for.

Also outdoor covers have to be non woven, too fluffy on the inside and they become a dirt magnet and hold moisture against the car. As for the fit, other members and coupe owners I have spoke to have a different opinion but thanks for the feedback laugh

Just fitted the cover to the car, should have done it earlier when there was more light rolleyes

Initial thoughts are the similar to those of Mansilla when he bought the same cover from cover-Zone. The quality is good, it is really light, the mirror pockets are a little out of line (Too rearward) and mine could do with being a little longer at the rear. It only just covers the lower rear end. I shall do a full review with pictures ASAP.

I know there have been problems with these in the past, but this didn't put me off too much as the location I'll be using this is very sheltered - my house on one side, neighbours on the other, and garage at the end, so well protected from three sides. The car is looking good (Gratuitous Coupe Shots 1 and 2) and I want to keep it that way. When in 'real' use it would be further up my drive.

Cover Zone sent me some samples of fabric, which arrived next day, before I ordered. I bought the Stormforce rather than Voyager as I think the fabric is much better. Voyager is a kind of plastic coated cotton, which I thought was a bit stretchy. The Stormforce feels tougher, but its probably not quite as waterproof, so maybe Voyager would be better in a very exposed location.

The first thing I would say is that this is a quality product. A strong case which is plenty big enough to get it back into, straps made of a suitably soft webbing, and little silicon covers for the clips , which are the only hard part that I think might be capable of producing a scratch (unless you get grit in, of course). The seams are triple welded and look like they will last.

Fitting is pretty easy, and Mrs. Mansilla was surprised how light the cover is. Photos of it fitted, with the straps on, from the front, back and side. The pockets for the mirrors are a little bit big, which is probably no bad thing, but would also benefit from being moved towards the front of the car by about 6 inches. The fitting at the back and front are both pretty good, but would be a bit better if the mirrors were moved. These are not big things though - overall I'm pretty impressed.

Quality: 10/10
Fitting 8/10

I'll post again if I spot any problems.

As I'm still in the process of rebuilding my Coupe I finally took the plunge and ordered my car cover from Cover Your Car to try and hold back a bit of the weather.

It took a while to arrive but I've just tried it on and it fits like a glove so should keep it nice and cosy laugh

Thanks to Greg at Cover Your Car, I did have a bit of a moan about the long delivery time, but all's well in the end.

What cover did you go for? I'm thinking of getting one. Good/bad points you could point out?

I went for this one, the Advan-tex Fit and finish are pretty good, although it hasn't been weather tested yet so I'll have to report back on that.

Just ordered mine from CoverYourCar. Arrived within 48 hours. Went for the indoor car cover - can't comment on the fit (as its an X-Mas present) but the presales support was second to none.
