The damping rate has finally all but disappeared from my rear shocks, so it's now time to spend some more money smile

But my question is; What would last longer / give the best ride quality / cost me the least? I'm thinking OE (or even some from something like an Alfa).

The car is lowered, by how much I'm not sure and the front shocks are still good / ride okay so I'm not really wanting to fit a full kit, but I am open to ideas.

OE shocks......enough people here selling them I would have thought.
If you were happy, why change ?
I always thought it was the fronts that made the big difference anyway and not the rears ?

Cheers Paul, I was happy enough with the set up as I don't track the car or even drive fast for that matter, but if I have to replace them I'd like to put my money in the right thing, which I thought would be OE.

From reading old posts on here it sounds like the Bilsteins give better ride and handling than healthy OE dampers...so that's what I went with. Not fitted yet tho so can't add my opinion!

I fitted new oe shocks, springs, top mounts, top mount bearings, drop links and wishbones along with new front tyres.

Wow, I have a new car laugh The way it turns in tight, and the steering is so direct now. Was tempted with Bilsteins but got a full set of new dampers for less than £100. I decided on new springs too as have seen several posts reporting broken springs. Heres to another 120k miles of coupe motoring.
