hi bought my first coupe at the weekend she had a blown turbo which is now fixed 2 days of spanner time and learning the engine bay on these things ( got dam there is no room in there )

i am just a little confused on what model she is its on a w plate with a push start button and is in silver with the later 8 spoke wheels with 225 tyres on it is this correct ? also she seems like she sits lower and has a different front grill and the sills are painted the same colour as the car but the brakes are still silver not red and there is no strut brace also lookes like the seats are different with like sides on them but no recaro badge or red stitching so not plus ??? or le ??? i am not sure it is probably obvious too you but i am confused and any help would be much appreciated

Sounds like a 20VT-6 to me. Does it have a six speed box?

Hi leighgreen,

Sounds like you've bought a late 20VT 6 speed which has some of the trick bits from the Plus parts bin thrown in.

The 20VT6 has the recaro interior minus the red stitching, 6 speed box, silver starter button and 8 spoke alloys but doesn't have the strut brace, or the Plus/Le side skirts or front bumper lips.

An LE on a W plate don't think so.

Mmmm...haven't got a clue about price I'm afraid. Have a look on pistonheads or Autotrader for comparisons maybe? Coupes are at rock bottom prices at the moment I'm afraid frown

20VT 6's don't always have the Recaros - they were an option IIRC.

Definitely a run-out model - properly known as a 20 valve turbo[6]

As has already been said, it was a standard 20vt with a few Plus parts thrown in (presumably to make it a bit more desirable in the face of increasing competition)

From memory, the extras include:-

Body coloured sills and bumper lower sections
'Plus' 8-spoke wheels with 225 tyres
Push-button start
180mph white-face speedo
Improved seats (deeper bolsters, but not as deep as the Recaro)
6-speed gearbox
Rear courtesy lights in the 'C' pillar (I think)

I'm sure there's more - just can't think of any at the moment
