Ditto, keep it till you have holes in your shoes and have to sell it. For £3500 its gotta be worth keeping.

If I could afford two I`d take it off your hands at that price.

I know its stupid, but I only have 4 weeks to find another job, so the sale of the coop will help. Like I said in the ad though, I could technically be OK without selling so I wont let it go for less than £3500 and am prepared to keep her if theres no interest

I'm a Marketing Manager for a Document Management company. We are part of a huge organisation who have decided to move Marketing into a central London site.....Me and a few other Marketing Managers have to either move into London (They are not offering much of a cost of living increase) or find another Job.

I have only lived in Brackley for about 6 months and I love it here, so I'm going for the find another Job option. I have a potential lead at a Mercedes GP and potentially a lead at Renault F1, but both would mean a bit of a pay cut so it makes sense to get rid of the coop and then look to get back into coupe ownership when my circumstances change.

Heck, for a job with either of those two companies I'd ditch everything, coupé, house, Mrs Stan (especially Mrs Stan!) and possibly an arm and a leg or two, just to walk in through the doors......hmm, that could be awkward without legs, but I'd crawl over broken glass!

Seriously, I'd take the pay hit and then see how things pan out....

I thinking the same thing Stan......I live about 30 seconds away from Mercedes GP and I think they have a marketing position coming up in the next few months, but I'm not absolutely sure. Its a more junior position than I'm used to so money will be lower, but it would be a massive career opportunity.

What a kick in the teeth after getting hold of a Vinci! If I could afford/justify the cost I's take her off your hands in a flash!

Really though, hope you get a job quickly & are able to keep her.

Cheers Mikeyc......i'll be fine, but I'm going have to start the coupe thing all over again next year by the looks of it.

I always look on the brightside......maybe this forced move will boost my career and next year I can afford an absolutely perfect exampe like Edz...........First thing I will do is try and buy this one back though

Seems a shame to be selling up after such a short period of time, especially when in your ad you state that you'll happily stick it in the garage until things improve financially. I get the impression that if you sell this car you'll only be back again in a few months trying to find another vinci LE and probably regretting that you sold yours!

Go on mate, keep it smile

Keeping it in a garage is a last resort......the money from selling this will mean I can take a bit of a hit on my basic and potentially get one of the marketing jobs that really interest me but dont pay as well.

If I keep her I will have to try and find something on the same wage as I am now, which will make things a little more difficult and mean I end up working in IT again......zzzzzz.

I am keen to sell to avoid that, but at the same time I can keep her if I must. She is worth £4k in my opinion, as with the few issues sorted she would be worth £4.5-5k, but I think £3.5 is a fair price as it means I only take a small hit for the pleasure of driving her for a few months and the new buyer gets a little more money in their budget to get the last few details sorted.

Buying a Vinci Grey LE and then selling it is like marrying Angelina Jolie and then divorcing her.

I can't help but think that you're pitching this all wrong.

You make it sound like you don't actually want to sell her, so noone here (and we love these cars) wants to feel responsible for you doing something you don't want to do.....

We had exactly the same situation crop up on the Alfa155 forum.

The fact you spent so long trying to find one and that you would be wanting to buy it back once things pick up (both things you've said) reinforce this feeling.

Good luck with the sale though, but I REALLY hope you find a job first....

I know where your coming from, but theres a big difference between wanting to sell and needing to sell......I think most people that sell a coupe dont really want to sell, theres normally something thats forcing them to do it.

Nail on head wink

I sold mine as I brought a new house & my outgoings increased by nearly £300 a month & I didn't think I could afford the running & maintenence costs, and YES I am regretting it now!. It turns out I could have easily kept it.

Another big reason not to sell, unless you need to is the plain (and unfortunate) fact it the Coupe market currently is in total devastation, great for the buyer - nightmare for the seller.

And with Fuel continuing to brutally rise + tax & insurance & the current state of the country - can anyone see it getting any better?

Keep it, unless you need to sell it wink eventually, the Coupe will obviously achieve full-on classic status & the sorted LE's & Plus's will only rise in value as they get rarer

The more I do the math, the more I realise selling the coop will have to happen.....I originally thought I could get away with not selling it, which is why I said that if I had to I would keep it......unfortunately my area of business is still recovering slowly so the jobs out there are lower paid and a little thin on the ground.

I have had a lot of interest in it though...half a dozen people from PH as well as 3 or 4 people from the forum who want to come and view
