I was wondering the other day how many truely standard Coupes there are. When I bought mine, I bought it as standard. Not a single mod was listed on the advert, just the way I wanted it. I knew I would modify it slightly and when I fitted the boost gauge the boost was fluctuating indicating it had a GTEC fitted.

Now mine has a drilled airbox, panel filter and two uprated engine mounts, 6x9's, phoenix gold amp and an alpine head unit.

So the question is how many of you actually have a *totally* standard Coupe?

Mines standard at the moment. Although will probably get a K&N filter and engine ready for a Flea remap over he summer.

The only change to mine, as far as I know, is the stereo and I still have the original to put back in.

Same here, just stereo and 20v overmats...all the rest as it left the factory

I'm not even sure that counts as 'truly' modifying ?? It's just an uprated part, as is the stainless steel exhaust and Kenwood Head Unit.

Even AlenW had a stainless exhaust.

Stereo and illuminated vent controls have been the only change for mine...

Yours has LE skirts so isn't really standard

Mine is close to standard, although I have a different stereo head unit, boost gauge and bleed valve.

I have two at the moment bar stereo's and a different tail pipe on the 20VT

I think mines a standard apart from headunit and gear-knob that i want to put to original anyway.

Erm.. mines been lowered, stainless backbox,cd player, new dump valve and a painted centre console.

Standard other than that though lol.

Mines has a cada front bumper, zender side skirts with a piu back bumper and aszevs plus numerous other stuff but apart from that it is "standard "

Think you will have trouble finding a standard car on here, mine would have probably remained standard and did for about 2 years before I started using this forum.

my red coupe was standard when i first got it then 18months later insted of selling it i fitted a k&n cone ,dump valve & grey alloys ,mp3....

plans are an l.e kit & full respray then a flea map.

my black coupe is standard for now & the porto i sold was standard.

Mine's got a (rank) stainless exhaust, K+N (that'll be going) and it's lowered. Oh - the sills have been painted. Mine don't stay standard long, too many good group buys happenin'

Probably because it's such a nice smooth car as standard and more than adequate performance, mine is pretty standard, only mods are chrome exhaust trim which can be removed in 5 mins, dial rings, heater rings again which can be removed in 2 secs and some magic trees . Totally standard then really, can remove everything if i want

Ive owned mine for 10 years. Got 157k on the clock, I bought it with 69k. Its completely standard apart from the stereo and the front 2 speakers. Even got the Coupe mats which cost me 80 quid at the time. Shame you cant get them anymore.

However in the next year going to upgrade the brakes. Might fit some LE skirts and bumpers.Chrome rings on the speedo and then maybe some HIDS.

Standard cars are lovely and smooth when running well. A remapped car is even smoother with a significant increase in speed without overwhelming any part of the car. If you choose to take the modifications further then you can still retain the smooth, refined driving even with 150bhp more, it just has to be done correctly.

totally standard, 64k miles in 13 years and just the same as it left the factory.. as it should be :-)

I would argue that the presence of a barnacle widget in no way removes the essence of originality from the car. Surely Fiat would have fitted them as standard had they thought of them first?
