Interesting, it says in the article that the lorry clipped her but her orientation on the front makes it look more likely that she went to change lanes, didnt look in her mirror (or lifesaver) and clipped him. I await the lorry dirvers side of the story. Come on Stan, get to it

I wonder how much she got paid? She said she feared the Arclid Transport HGV would ram her into the crash barrier and kill her so she tried calling for help on her mobile phone. I'm surprised they never fined her for using her mobile phone . Baz

My sister works in the Vets with this lady. She has been fairly traumatized by the whole thing and in the end caved in and got Max Clifford to represent her as there where journalists waiting for her outside her work every day and calling 50 - 60 times a day trying to speak to her. She got paid for the TV stuff but not very much and to make matters worse her clio still hasn't been repaired.
The people at her work thought she was exaggerating what happened but then they saw the video.

The slip road joins the middle lane of the motorway, so she was effectively undertaking the 44-tonne tanker, Mr Joyce said. How's that work then I was convinced this was fake when I firs saw it I'd still like to know how those tyres stayed on the rims!

This does actually happen quite often as bockers says.
My other half works for the emergency services and has now been to a few identical incidents to this. All the ones she has been to, when the driver of the car was asked what speed they were doing at the time of collision, all said about 50-55mph...
So thats the problem you see, people are joining the motorway at the same speed as the lorry resulting in the collision.

OK seems it's a bit quiet on here as someone has pointed out, so I thought I'd put the cat among the pigeons on this & point out. On further thoughts, although an accident, I personally think that the driver of the Clio should have been more vigilant. It's a well known fact that lorries have very bad blind spots & should be treated as if they haven't seen you in certain situations. Motorway driving is very different compared to other road designs, but up here we have big lorries with very large log loads,as an instance, I always keep well out of their way. I think some may not agree with me, but there are occasions when you have to be more observant & think well ahead as what could happen & think the worst. Now I will sit back & see if I've shot myself in the foot.
I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time

On the way to pick up the coupé from Scouserland last week with my old man, We were at a set of temporary traffic lights at roadworks just past Flint. My dad had just said "These roadworks are a pain in the ass, it puts another half hour on your journey. Have you noticed the roadworks contractors have foreign plates?" When we heard the Loudest CRUNCH! and we saw one of the road contractor's lorries wheels actually up on the bonnet of some poor sod's blue 406 It would have been a write-off. The bonnet, wing, windscreen, bumper all smashed to smithereens. It was a T-Junction opposite the roadworks, and the lorry had gone in the right-hand lane to turn right. I think he must have thought "oh I'll just cut across to get to the entrance" not noticing this 406 was in the left lane. it was only a 10mph smash, but I'd bet it was in his blind-spot. I don't think the 406 had much of a chance with that one!
Coopless!
