I have almost certainly got a problem with my turbo seals.
As the car is under warranty I want to know whether this issue could be considered wear and tear, and therefore leave me having to foot the bill.
The turbo is definitely covered in the Warranty, as it is marked as an extra, but not sure whether they will try and avoid paying, stating that it is wear and tear and therefore not covered.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks

It's now showing just under 49,600 and was on 48800 when I bought it a few weeks ago.
The mileage when the warranty started was last September was 45279.

For clarity, here is an extract of my agreement under "Exclusions": wear and tear or the gradual reduction in operating performance commensurate with the age and mileage covered by the vehicle. This includes, but is not limited to: a) The gradual loss of engine compression necessitating the repair of valves or rings. b) gradual increase in oil consumption due to normal operating functions

Can hardly be classed as where and tear then can it? 1200 miles since purchase????
Also, there may be justification stating that there are plenty of turbo's on the forum that have lasted over 100,000 miles.
You haven't put on a de-cat have you?

No, no mods at all.
Sorry, I edited my post, so it's covered about 4300 since the warranty started.

Well, I'd go back and start discussions on replacing the turbo then. It's failed and my line would be failed early.
How long since purchase?

Give them a call, state your case and see what happens in the first instance. You may be pleasantly surprised If not, you will know their stance and be able to action as you see fit

I think that's probably the way to go. Although I have already made use of the warranty, when my clutch slave cylinder started leaking. That time Motormech dealt with the company on my behalf, so I may just do that again.

Have you spoke to the garage who sold you the car/warranty?
I had the same problem a month or so ago, got a local garage to speak to the warranty company on my behalf and it was a pain, but took it back to the people who sold the car and warranty to me and they were able to sort it.

Not spoken to anyone yet. Getting an idea of cost from Motor-mech then going to call APA. See how it goes.
