i have noticed that coupe prices are getting silly low so was thinking to help bump the prices up cant the specialists just buy all the sheds to break so only leaving the clean examples...
this seems to be the case for allot of mk1/2 golfs & the evo 1-3's.... i think allot were bought for racing events as was mine.

Be kind of self defeatist from a specialists perspective wouldn't it? It would sure make a rubbish business model to buy your target cars to repair? Then leave only the good one's that need no work on the road.
Supply and demand?
There is more supply and demand, demand will not increase because they become hard to supply, There could be 100 coupés for sale or just 10, as long as there is only 2 people looking to buy said coupe, prices will not increase.
The simple fact is that the car will never make it as a "classic" it does represent a hell of a good buy however, lot of car for very little money. Its unlikely to make classic status due to it simply being a fiat, if it had a Alfa badge? maybe. There are exceptions to this rule however. The Fiat 500

i think the less you see a car the more you want it so demand should go up as it has on mk1/2 golfs.... at one point they were fetching peanuts but now your looking at £1500+ for a 8v.. same as rst's & xr2/3's... as for demand with a coupe's reliability im sure there will be plenty..

I'm not sure you're correct about the unrealistically low prices.
I think it applies to anything else that's comparable too and it may have something to do with the economy.
There are public sector job cuts to come and there's an emergency budget from the new government in a fortnight. Unemployment may well go up and some are mentioning something called a 'jobless recovery'.
As applealing as they are Fiat Coupes aren't immune to the real world.

Sounds like a standard life value model for any 'specialist interest car'...not too many years ago you could buy a Ferrari Dino for a fraction of the current cost...same for early 6 cylinder DBS Astons...and e-types were breakers specials.
I don't believe the coupe has reached the bottom of the dip yet, but it will rise eventually....although in real money terms the coupe will never be worth it's new'ish value due to deflation.
Supply and demand does have an impact with older cars...so does a pair of rose tinted glass..preferably the misted variety

Perhaps we need something along the lines of the organ donor cards?
"In the event of my scrappage, I wish my parts to be made available for transplant. Signed, A Coupe."
