I know of at least one Fiat Coupe owned by a police officer. It's not the same one you're referring to. The police aren't allowed to wear their uniform when getting to and from work? I've seen one walking home in their uniform but with a coat on over the top. Considering we waved at each other as I drove by in the opposite direction it's a bit worrying I don't know if they wear their uniform or not when travelling to and from work. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...ce-spend-70000-a-day-on-hiring-cars.htmlThe rented ones don't come with blue lights on top and reflective orange stripes so just be aware when other cars and people are about.

question 1 - why on earth can a police officer not wear his/her uniform on the way to/from work?!
question 2 - (while we are on the subject of police cars) is there a specific difference between colours?
for example - i tend to see black marked police cars on routes like the A14 or A12, along with the VOSA, and 'Traffic Officer' discoveries, but in more built up areas or on smaller roads only ever tend to see the white marked units.
just wondered if the black ones were purely for traffic?
i am however, given my elevated driving position, very good at spotting the unmarked vehicles too!!
all those bloody gizmos stuck to you windscreens give you away stan!!
