Right as you all know I've had my 16vt for a few months now and got it to a point where I'm stupidly happy with it....however after attending the Essex meet yesterday with a bunch of 20vt's and hearing Tolga's car at full chat I realised I miss that sound and overall feel.

Don't get me wrong the 16vt is an awesome awesome car with a real deep growl and bags more torque than most of the 20vt's on here but I'm thinking I'm now wanting the smoothness and linear delivery and sound of the 20vt.

What I'd want to do ideally is put a 20vt lump in the 16 but I don't think that's cost effective so perhaps a swap or PX with a sorted 20vt running similar power and mods.

I'm in 2 minds as said as LOTS of work has gone into my 16vt and it's running perfectly with a mint exterior and very clean interior. No leaks, smoke, knocks, bangs or issues anywhere.

What to do...

Keep it,it's most likely the best example of a 16vt around and for that alone I wouldn't swap.

DC, Knowing what I know now, I would have kept the 16vt and found away to get a 6 speed box in it.

You have been down this path, you know where it leads. Although you do a great service to the coupe community taking the cars that you do, respraying them and then selling them for very little! (yep pot calling the kettle...)

Keep the dam 16vt it sounds stunning from your youtube vids.

I'd keep it (at least for a bit longer), especially since you've just had it resprayed. I don't think you'd get all the money you've put into it back.

I guess that's the problem once you've got the car running spot on and there's nothing to do! your eye starts wandering!

That's exactly right Duncan!

I'm glad people admire my services Sam haha. To be fair though if I were to swap/PX it it would have to be for an LE or Plus or a very nicely modified example but I see what people are saying.

do it, you know you wanna wink

I would but I don't think my car's worth £3,800 personally or that'd be the one I'd buy in a heartbeat!

I must admit I do have my eye on this one - http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1776835.htm

As I said it would have to be a plus or LE or a sorted 20vt with some bits done!

God I need to stop doing this. I'd imagine it will be snatched up before I parted ways with my 16vt anyway.

Having just read through sugerbear's for sale thread it's almost made me bite the bullet straight away and chuck it up for sale.

Then again I might miss out on his car and will then probably not want to part with my 16vt till something similar arises.

Having seen both cars in the flesh, the paintwork on Diddy's coop is far better IMO. I know the rear bumper on Patch's car was bad but there are more flaws when I saw it are Brooklands, touched in area etc.

I'd budget in a full respray costs if you were to go from your freshly painted 16vt to another car (patch's included), because once you're used to having nice paintwork, anything else is just sub-standard.

This is true hence I like sugerbear's so much as his must be in the same condition as mine as his is freshly resprayed too!

The paintwork on mine is MINT. Whoever saw mine yesterday can vouch for that I'm sure.

i may be mistaken, but i think Patch's bumper is done now - i'm sure Joe was fitting it yesterday when i left at 8.30pm so it is a very very good example for not much money cool

Your car but i dont think you should do it... frown

You can always mod yours its more of a challenge and will be something different from the same old pluses and LEs...

Arggh I really don't know what to do. I've chucked mine on Pistonheads for a high price and if it fetches it fair play if not it will be kept!

Keep the 16vt Did, we were just saying yesterday how rare it is to see any 16v variant.
You were the only one with a 16vt at the meet.

If your car was a dog i could understand it, but its not!
Its one of the nicest coupes ive seen, and sounds raw with the full 3" exhaust.

Dont jump into anything to soon, hopefully the itch will go!

Thing is, DC, sounds like you've got a bad case of 'the grass is always greener...'

There's always one that's better, or in the colour you like this week, or with a different tune, or whatever... and each and every one of them comes with its own personalised set of problems.

You've got yours working well, painted nicely (shame about the wheels but I suppose it's each to his own!), so stick with it. Don't get a new one on a whim.
