In reality I should have sold the car a few years ago. I wrote up the advert, but just couldn't bring myself to post in on here. Spent more than it's worth on it since then.
Anyway, I didn't sell it, obviously enough. Owner of my local garage (16v owner) has today told me he wants a 20vt and has said he wants first refusal if I ever sell it - happy to pay what I think is a fair price.
So, after over 7 years of ownership, do I sell and, if so, what's it worth?
R Reg '97 20VT. Engine is standard. 70K miles. Just taxed, MOTd and serviced. Bodywork - has a dent in the passenger's rear quarter. Body coloured bumpers and sills, but flaking off the front bumper. New pads and disks. Belts and clutch done 2 years ago. Leather, air con and sun-roof.
To put this in context: I don't need the money, but I don't really need the car at the moment - commute by train. I would be getting rid of it just to save me the cost and inconvenience of running it. But in a month's time I will need a car (daily commute).
So it just seems a good opportunity to "get rid" of something that is a bit tired, without the pain of advertising and time-wasters, and have a change.
Thoughts?

A difficult one if your going to need a car soon. Whatever you get for the coupe, assuming you decide to sell, it probably wont cover the cost of getting a newer 'reliable' car, which will no doubt need money spending on it....
However, if you want rid, with a view to spending on something newer, perhaps more suited to a daily commute, then its probably time to wave good bye to the coupe.....

Fancy a quick Mini, Emjay...I reckon she who must be obeyed might like it too I am not sure I would choose a coupe as a daily commuter nowadays although plenty do so

No thoughts on price, anyone?
