So the doorbell rings and I open the door to find a well dressed eastern-European man standing there. He said 'I see you have your house up for sale' I said 'Yes' He said 'I'm not interested in buying your house, but I'd like to buy your Coupé' I wasn't expecting that Apparently he's seen it around and he's looking for one as he loathes to pay the Stg£1,080 equiv for his annual road tax. The coupé is a cheaper option at only Stg£513 equiv. I don't know how he managed to find out where I live since I'm away from the public road in a small quiet cul de sac. He kept saying 'are you sure I can't persuade you to sell it'. I never asked what price he was thinking about. I'd probably have sold it to him at the right price The heart ruled over the head. Dammit..I should have sold it!

So the doorbell rings and I open the door to find a well dressed eastern-European man standing there. He said 'I see you have your house up for sale' I said 'Yes' He said 'I'm not interested in buying your house, but I'd like to buy your wife' I wasn't expecting that Apparently he's seen her around and as he loathes to pay the Stg£1,080 equiv for his sister. The wife is a cheaper option at only Stg£5.13 equiv. - cash either way! I don't know how he'll manage to feed her. He kept saying 'are you sure I can't give you a little more for her'. I never asked what price he was thinking about. I'd probably have sold her to him but I wasn't taking any chances, so thrust £5.13 into his fist and the wife into his boot The heart ruled over the head. Dammit..I should have sold her, I'd love a frosted doughnut right now! ok

I know what you both mean. At work my car is like the running joke. Lot's of Fix It Again Tomorrow jokes etc. The Fiat one liners are about 15-20 years out of date, but they seems to find it amusing. About 90% of them wouldn't be able to locate their cars dipstick I reckon their remarks come from deep rooted jealously, not specifically of the Fiat Coupé, but of the fact that I haven't accepted a life of following the norm like sheep. I'm a bit more individual. They have no opinion on anything. Actually no, the have an opinion on everything, but no real personal opinion on anything. That's why they drive run-of-the-mill, reliable, numb cars.

Totally agree! Our cars are quirky and individual, but still hold their own on the looks, performance and even practicality front! Anyone on this forum could buy a newish boring box of a car,but we choose to drive something that excites us . Yes they can be expensive and unreliable ,but when running well,it more than makes up for it! Nazo,"UGLY DUCKLING" ????? Moon Grey lol!!! Never ever ever in the same sentence,I love Moonies,

I get roughly two offers-to-buy a year, usually a note under the wiper. The last one was a couple of months ago, the guy followed me, till I parked up and asked if I fancied selling.
Even this morning, as I was putting the kids in the car, a passing delivery guy from UPS, and ex-coopster so he said, was telling me how great it was.

It's funny, but the last 2 weeks I've had people stop and chat to me, admiring the Coupe. One at a petrol station, the other was driving passed, wound down his window commenting on the wheels first of all, then got out to have a proper look round and a drool. He owns an FTO!

Quite funny you should say that, some of my friends do drive run off the mill, reliable cars because they either have a family or they spend it elsewhere. I find it odd everyone on here gets people knocking on the door, saying something good about it when pretty much most people here, don't give a toss and when they do, it's "ugly". Anyway I don't buy a car to impress others so I'm keeping it!

Someone once said to me that the Coop looks great but that its crap mechanically / performance wise. I asked this person if they had ever driven one? No. I asked if they had ever sat in one? No. At least this person has 20/20 vision. I mean people who genuinely find the Coupe ugly must find more attractive than

The Coupe is stunning, end of. With a mint body and an as new appearance they really do turn heads.
I double or triple take at my LE when I'm walking into work. And boy does lowering the suspension make a huge difference!
Stunning from every angle, including the inside.
It there was one thing I'm not over the moon about it's the in-bound wheels; more aggressive offset would have killed it.

id keep an eye on your car, this is a usual ploy in a quiet cul de sac etc used by gypsies or other lowlife, they knock on the door to see if you are at home, size you up etc.this happened to me a while back with my subaru,i lived in a cul de sac that was IMPOSSIBLE to accidentally drive down in passing, the best answer is "no mate it aint for sale, the engine has blown up and it will be broken for some time" they dont want to steal a broken car,its more difficult.

I recognised his car when he said he had a 406 Coupe V6, as there is only one in the town that's left hand drive. I took the reg of the car he arrived in. Anyway, why bother scoping out my place to nick a €4,000 car which needs a front end respray or the 8 year old Pug 307 diesel? My next door neightbour has a lovely 2008 Imola Red 320d M-Sport sitting on her driveway! The neighbour on the otherside has an A3 and Land Cruiser LWB! I think he called to the wrong door
