I installed some 16 x 9 in the rear panel. Its ok, but one some road surfaces I get a bit of vibration, probably as I mounted them direct onto the metal panel.

Can anyone give a link to a mount which will prevent this and also tell me how the speakers can be mounted so that they stay tight in place. At the moment I have basically just used single screws, and I can't see how that will stay taught over time. On the other hand I can't see how one can get four nuts and bolts back there due to the limited access.

Any advice appreciated.
Steve

When I mounted mine I used 9mm MDF to make speaker rings and used off cuts to space the rings so they sit flush.

I then attached those to the frame using a self tapper. I sealed up around the speaker ring to the frame using builders flashing tape.

I backed the speakers, where they mount, with some draught excluder (like you use for windows and doors) and then used some long screws to fasten threw the speaker, the MDF speaker ring and into the frame.

You need to use the MDF as the speakers twist slightly if you try and fasten them straight to the frame.

Drill the pilot holes slightly under size and use some silicon to act as thread lock and the screws won't move. Plus fasten as much of the cable down behind as you can.

I used laminate underlay from B&q cost about a tenner and some gaffa tape. I have heard builders flashing tape does smell abit in the summer. So thats why i did it that way.

I also did under the seat and the door cards... makes a massive diffrence
