Are there any recommended dealers where I can get a decent pair of alloys, or at least people willing to take a chance on the low offset pattern for the 20vt. So far, most of the dealers I've been to in North East London see the coupe as too much hassle.

I'm resigned to hubcentric spacers and potentially adapting the stud pattern from 4X98 to 5X100. This could potentialy open up the realms of the 19" world.

The alternative are wheels from the Lenso range which are sent out blank, but these are dear.

I know this topic has been covered endlessley, but I've finally grown bored of the standard 16" alloys and after market manufacturers seem to have written off the coop finally

Its a shame a lot of the wheels I've seen on this site are now discontinued. Damn those Rota Battles looked real good.

doesn't answer your question but I think 19's would be undrivable frown

Most with 18's say its quite harsh probably due to the low profile (35 i think) 19's would need rubber bands laugh

would look sweet with the right wheels though cool

19 inch wheels dont do it, it will drive you mad lock to lock will be worse the ride will be harse and a constant noise of rubber binding agaist metal nono
i had a set of 18 inch wheels on and didnt like them at all, they are drivable but you fill the car with passengers and exspect tyres rubbing. yes
I have now 20mm h&r hubsentric spacers that changed the fiat 98pcd to 100pcd which gives you alot more of choice of alloys to buy due to them making sure the alloys clear the brembos.

Funny the guys at Wolfrace can't seem to come up with an 18" set of wheels, even the 4X100 stud pattern seems to be off limits to the 20vt.

Was on the phone with Rota this afternoon, but they are suggesting I change the stud pattern completely from 4 to 5 using JDM spacers. I am taken by the idea but am not sure how fragile a combination would be over the hub.

Des,

Watch this space. I'm going from 16's to 18's at the weekend so will let you know about the handling, or lack of.

realistically, your going to need at least spacers and/or wobbly bolts to utilise the more common 4 x 100 PCD

I have Team Dynamics Savages 17's - 4x98? (see sig pic)

Someone has a picture on here of them on a yellow 20v turbo as I had a question as to whether they fit over the brembo's (mine was an NA)

I know you said 19s but I can tell you 18s I found a mare.

These look alright

Seems like Team Dynamics are friendly towards the Coupe as the spokes are nearly always on the extreme outer wheel edge, clearing the Brembos.

But personally ...
I went for a new set of 17s inchers having a set of 18's already in the car
when I bought it. The day came when I had the emergency wheel on and couldnt believe how
much comfort the emergency wheel was over bumps, man hole covers etc., thought about 4 emergency red wheels (not really).

So I treated myself to a set of 17 inch Team Dynamic Monza Rs, the are a direct
98pcd fitment (well they are blank and they drill them to fit).

I bought 6 rims + Toyo Proxes tyres = £935 from ebay MagikWheels
(Team dynamics in disguise on ebay. The guy there, another Andy said he'd try to do good price
as he likes the Coupe ) Maybe the price isnt that great but im happy.
and Yes 6 ! I broke one of the previous 18's on a pot hole so dont ever want to get
into wheel repairs or buying again !

They actually clear the Brembos by 20mm with no spacers.

17's ARE a lot more comfortable to drive with than 18s,
thats my rantings off my chest.

Magikwheels are here

Good luck mate, let us know what you get + piccy.

Thanks all - have been really impressed with the advice so far and am just reading with interest on the options. I hear you saying the 17's probably being the best ride, but I've had this Vanilla coupe since she came out of the factory, that I'm quite excited about going the whole 9 yards and stopping at the 18s. Will definitely refurb the 16's in the meantime.

Earlier I called Elite direct http://www.elitedirect.com/ in Rainham; they seem to be be quite experienced with the coupe dilemma and I'm gonna check 'em out probably next weekend. The guy was confident on the 5X100 hubcentric adapters; shouldn't be a problem and would open up more possibilities.

The guy at Rota also gave me the number to an outfit called Kream Development also nr Rainham who specialise in customisation. We'll see - they seem like a bunch of Westwood wannabees.

I'll probably have the double din in place of the original clarion (remember those) by next week so will probably set up a new post with photos.

I`ve got 18 `s on mine wouldn`t buy them again, went for looks rather than comfort/handling rolleyes --In my opinion, 17`s win all day long

Some very good advice given here. No question about it, big wheels do look good. If you want to tootle about in the Coop & go just for looks, that's fine, but if you actually want to drive the car & have the odd spirited run wink well that's a different story. It's been discussed in the past as said. Take the advise given & you'll have a comfortable ride cool

I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time

Ordered some Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s (17") with T1Rs fitted from Rochford Tyres in Essex. They are made to order (21 days) but should get them this week. They are guaranteed (?) to clear the Brembos - will refurbish the standard wheels later...

I'll try and post some piccies when they are fitted
