Have you kept standard turbo elbow did?
If SO then your prob upto about 260 bhp.... If you've got a custom larger one could be even more?

Nick

368bhp @ 1.5 bar

Standard elbow at present. Really 260bhp? Would the larger dp and diameter exhaust really make that much difference?

On the road it feels insane but it may be the placebo effect from the noise.

It ran 244bhp on the previous exhaust setup.

Could make that much of a difference! Saying that tho there's prob not that much more puff in the standard turbo past 250ish! I'd say your bhp has DEFFO gone up tho mate!
You didn't buy that 3.5 inch elbow then that was in haggling section a while back...... I wish that would have come up for sale before I bought my custom 2.75 inch one..... Weren't cheap!

Nick

Not with the stock fanimold I don't think it won't frown

Speaking of the human ear. Yep it sure is amazing amazing. seems you can get a mic to pick up low range sounds or high range sounds but not both. So you can record the inlet, or the exhaust but not both!

See on this vid of my old Clio turbo, inlet sounds but no exhaust sound!

DidCoop your Coupe looks really nice in that clip. And it sounds aggressive too!

And you're right, videos don't fully capture the nuances in the exhaust noise.

Thanks JKD, that was just a quick wash but shows how lovely and reflective the paintwork is too smile

Anyone who's attending the Essex meet next weekend will see/hear it and I hope it's liked as I think it's bonkers yet fantastic!

What I like about the Coop is that on idle and normal driving it has a nice low satisfying growl to it, which lets others know there is power under the hood, but nonetheless its a civilised sound.

Give it some gas though... and its like someone has gone into a lion enclosure at a zoo and slapped a male lion across the face!

2.75 stainless straight through exhaust, motormech custom-made decatted. hybrid stage 3 turbo, pro alloy fmic and all supporting mods. flea mapped to 351bhp on 1.2 boost. i am biased but to me i've not heard a better one with the exception of Nigels of a couple of years ago....

You are biased as mine sounds the nuts. I love the raspy jet note at full chat and I love the sound Tolgas makes too. If you lose the air ripping sound I personally think it sounds boring.

It's all about the rasp on boost for me!

For me this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pu3st-NJuQ

Sounds no where near as naughty or awesome as this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjBo5lhmSLA&feature=related

The air ripping sound on boost is what makes it for me!

Heeheehe I agree with didcoop, I've decided to keep my exhaust system and just get a downpipe fabricated to fit, I'd miss the 'jet' noise at 4,500rpm+ tongue

If it has a jet fighter noise then invariably that means the exhaust is too restrictive, which in turn will limit performance.

What exhaust diameter and amount of silencers is advised for 340bhp ish??? I have a 2.5" decat and cat back, no silencers at all, am looking for a 2.75" downpipe to be fabricated before I pay Leighton a visit. Is that a sufficient system???
