i rang up original guy in wales when it was first on and offered more than 1395 for it but he wanted more then..it came up a few times ..original owner told me he had had a few and alfas etc and was reasonably knowlegeable..he was telling me it was a good one so dont know why its back on by new owner

the seller is a forum member.the one who bought johna's car and tried flogging it for a quick sale

maybe thats what its about its a cheap buy at 1300 or whatever it was
maybe if he is in a more accessable place it will make a good profit..everyone knows i am in the trade although its vans and being easy to get to makes a big difference ..that car in the middle of south wales was never going to get much interest..put it in the northwest or midlands and it will make 500 more mad though it seems its true..maybe he is a trader or just wheeling and dealing for a bit extra cash..
remember there are new customers on ebay everyday and there is always someone that doesnt know what he paid

It's my car car, and yes I'm a trader. What is up with you guys AGAIN ? There is nothing dodgy about this car, I buy and sell coupes. Just like johna's that I sold ! Johna's car was sold in good working order, just like I advertised it. I'm sure there are better things to do, than to go around bitching about someone sellings cars. Instead of assuming, why don't you just call me up and ask questions ?

The previous owner had been let down on eBay by a fella in Scotland. The winning bidder wanted him to deliver the car to Scotland. I've purchased the car now. That's why it has changed hands over the last few days. Any questions, just ask me.

The auction is still running though..

Why not advertise on the forum?Its free?Saves being raped by ebay everytime.

I understand ;-) The reason for not advertising on the forum, is due to others bitching like little old women. When actual fact, I've sold some very nice coupes. Hope you understand.

I have to agree with that. The only way someone should be commenting is if you go see the car, or know / are the previous owner + are aware of the history of the car.

Dont worry about them,if your are as genuine as the car there nowt to worry about. Even on ebay the car will be scrutinised if its doesn't look up to scratch or something sounds fishy.At least as a forum member you can respond here to your ads alter it etc without the hassle(timewaster) and charges of ebay.

The proof is in the inspection really and if it as its described they can eat there words.If not expect to be questioned.

Give the forum the chance to grab a bargain.

Sorry Kev it's just I'd seen it appear on ebay 3 times in a month and wondered why i.e if there's somthing wrong with it. It looks tidy.

That's ok Joe, no problems. The previous owner lived in west coast of Wales, and isn't a petrol head like us. It's a nice coupe that needs a good home :-) Ive just had someone come to view the car. He picked up on a split outer cv gator, the front spliter (as explained) and the rear bumper melted a bit from the rear silencer.

at the end of the day this is an open forum and this is the buying and selling section ..
people asking each other what they know of cars and speculating is only natural when you are parting with your hard earned cash..
there are many shady traders out there and they still try and pull my pants down on a regular basis even though i am in the trade myself
so many normal buyers on the forum have had bad experiences thus the speculation and lets be honest its been on three times then changes hands and comes back on so peolpe will wonder why..
personally i dont see that as bitching and if you cant stand a bit of scrutiny without reacting like that you should be in another business or not use an open forum

I agree with most of this. Specualtion is only natural. If you dont want people to speculate as to why the car has been up for sale often then you should state the reason for this in your advert.

am i the only one who thinks that is a bit harsh? especially when he isn't the one who dragged his car into this section/forum?

it seems to me that without specific knowledge of cars people should reserve judgement UNLESS someone asks for it. he didn't as far as i can see

motor traders dont have a very good name or image unfortunately and you have to understand that its natural that people will speculate and want to know why certain things ..like the car coming back straight after being bought..
thats a natural thing people will want to know and speculate as to the reasons and this is the place to do so ..a forum open to anyone to say what they think,feel,fear and whatever else that buying second hand cars evoke
if you are curtious, helpfull and polite with people (all of whom are potential customers)you do yourself ,your trade,and your personal business a credit.
when you come on a buying and selling section and go on the defensive and take an attitude inferring people are bitching about your cars you do no one any favours and the traders bad attitude cliche is reinforced and people become more wary and feel they cant say what they are thinking without getting attitude
there is no reason he couldn't have come and and said "look guys i am a trader the car is fine and you are welcome to come and have a look and i would be grateful if you would refrain from comment untill someone has seen it..i will gladly bring it to whoever wishes to look in order for them to give an apraisal and anyone is welcome to test it

i have been around a long time and have been as i value and understand peoples thoughts and fears when shelling out for a second hand vehichle and in my view if you have no time for that or cant stand your vehichles under scrutiny you should not be in the trade
you certainly don't do the rest of us any good
same with the attitude on a buying and selling forum section when you are selling..

i understand what you're saying kt, but i say again - it wasn't him who started any threads about his car. if he had, i agree it's fair game for comments in the appropriate place

Bit harsh, your right ! I gave my number on the advert, even though I didn't advertise it on here. For the simple reason of what's happened today. It doesn't help when people post about my cars, when they don't know me or the cars I'm selling. So why speculate and assume, when it's so simple. Just pick up the phone up, and ask me the questions. Then when you have spoken to me, post what I've said. Even better, come and view car. That way, your not talking rubbish !!! I can handle open forums, only when people tell the truth, and not assume. Conclusion ? You don't ask, you don't know !

fair comment people should phone or speak to you but its not a perfect world and you will always get assumptions presumptions and other umptions..its just the way it is..
its what you do with that thats the issue
and also one of the keys to succesful (if thats how you spell it) trading ..not that i am trying to tell you how to do it just an honest statement
i have found you only have yourself..you are the business ..the front and the first impression people get will determine whether they come and see what you have or just carry on looking..
if you come across as agressive or uncaring or short with people it will put half of them off without any further thought about your car.
you managed to put peoples back up and provoked anger by infering people were bitchin (no one wants to be thought of or indirectly called a bitcher)when you could have handled it as i mentioned above and left them thinking you were fair and reasonable and left them feeling happy with your asking them not to speculate
you say i was harsh but you have to take responsability for this chain of events the attitude changed from one of simple speculation when an angry retort was your response that was harsh
sometimes when we are in the wrong and it is reflected back at us we think ahh fair enough i dont want to come across like that and the direct result we learn something or we can think along the lines "what a bunch of&*&&^" and click over to ebay
