Its come round so quick since I decided to part ways with my coupe. After just over 3 years with the car, tomorrow the car will be getting stripped apart and all the goodies getting sent to different parts of the country (continent in fact).

As its got closer to the day I have become more and more sad about what I'm doing, I've never felt like this about any other car. Not even my 16VT to be honest.
Tonight I'm going to put in a good £20-30 of Shell's finest and drive for drivings sake and give the girl a good night before I say goodbye.

Good news is it looks promising that another member will be restoring this car, so it isn't seeing a proper death. smile

Goodbye coupe cry

What car are you moving onto? (I saw you were interested in my Evo 8 post!)

Yes it frags old coupe. He sent me a message about a month ago, I replied but he didn't get back to me. I'm also cross with myself. But it makes a lot more sense financially and the car will still live on. I couln't drop the price any further.

Mark - if you're starting to get sentimental now, just wait until you actually start attacking the car with the toolkit, ripping off all those lovely mods that your car knows and loves.

I guarantee you will feel truly awful - I still feel like I've committed a crime, scrapping a car that was running perfectly and just needed some welding and paint

Today, I went into a motorway service station for a rest and a bite to eat - came out twenty minutes later and for just a brief moment, I was confused, because I couldn't see my gorgeous Sprinty where I'd parked up - for some reason, a Moon grey seems to blend in a lot more with all the other silver cars in the carpark - my Sprinty always stood out.

Bloody hell Nigel, do you want me to slit my wrists?? laugh I feel bad as it is!

I'm still constantly looking on pistonheads, so I KNOW I want a different car. How do people survive with boring cars all the time? 6 months or so is going to be bad enough.

Went for mt last drive this morning. Was very emotional actually when I was driving back.

I didn't feel much when I started stripping it. But I think its when somebody close to you dies, it takes a while to hit home. Oh well, no turning back now!

That's more accurate! laugh

When you hear the mob chanting "We want opposable thumbs" then you know the in-breeding has gone too far.... sick

Back on topic, I think it will shortly become an offence to dismantle a coupé laugh

Pull your pants up Mark, it's only metal laugh

Seriously though you'll soon be intoxicated with an FQ-400, a few mods and you'll be in a whole new league.

Good luck and hope you stick around

Good luck dismantling the Coupé Mark, and just keep your chin up with the thought of what's to come smile

Can I make a bold prediction? That you get your winter runaround, get bored very very quickly, look outside to see that the weather isn't actually *that* bad, then regret buying the runaround and go for the Evo anyway?! laugh

Thanks guys. I think I'll be alright. I haven't actually missed it 'yet'. Except for when I have passed a couple of Coupes on the road and not being able to flash/wave etc.

Very good chance you may be right on that Dave, but I'm going to try my hardest to resist and save up as much as possible so I can get the best example possible.
