Its been mentioned lots of times before and there have been quite a few impressive results in terms of mpg and distance on 1 tank.

Well, today I managed to do my own PB - 'how empty is your tank'.

I filled up before driving up to TOTB and I've just refilled this morning:

414 miles total
Filled up with...... 63.09 litres! shocked (must have been running on fumes)
So 29.9 mpg: not the best I've ever had but pretty good.

So, whats the most you've ever put into your tank? In theory you should be able to get maybe 64 litres including the tank plus filler neck?

P.S When I fitted my rear subframe mounts I drained the tank, flushed through and changed the filter - so there should be any crud in it.

P.P.S 1 full tank cost me £78.80 shocked

On 15th July I filled up with 65.19 litres which cost €86.64

The only reason I know this is because I took a picture of the fuel pump display as a shocking momento! I'd post it up, but it's stuck in my phone at present. Perhaps later on if you can withstand the excitement!

I drove from SE London to just north of Dundee with a stop off in North Yorkshire on a single tank about a year ago. Recently I drove from London to Leeds and back again, including some local work. In both cases I filled up pretty much bang on 500 miles (was seriously worried by that time).

Both times were a fill of about 62 litres (or 36 mpg). On neither occasion was I trying for a big number - rather I was not in a rush and cruised at a GPS 70 pretty much all the way with minimal traffic hold ups.

My best is 434 miles at 34 MPG, filled up with 58 litres of fuel, so possibly could have gone a bit further.

This was on A+ B roads too, no motorway driving so could do better smile

Oh and i have a duff thermostat. laugh

It was brimmed alright. I'm still convinced I had a few miles left in the tank though. tongue

I have and regularly manage 650 miles to a tank with mixed driving. This works out at approx 45mpg.

I should point out though that this is in my T4 2.5tdi! lol!

Had my best mpg this week recent trips from Bristol to Solihull for work cruising around 65mph no hold ups and short distances off the motorway at both ends.
Filled up with 49.75 litres (£60.15) and trip computer had 470.9 miles = just over 43mpg!! laugh was going to try and do the last return leg home which is about 90 miles still showing around 1/4 tank on the gauge but thought i would rather fill up and not worry about running out!

One other thing I should mention is that I followed Nigel for the remaining 30 miles to TOTB and this probably helped - he was driving like a grandad laugh (understandable in a fully stripped out coupe)

Love you really Nigel wink

I thought I was doing well, got my personal best of 370 miles out of a tank this morning(normally get 320-330), but the reserve light has been on for at least 30 of those...must go to the petrol station on the way home!

I got Hemel to Leeds and back - 344 miles - on 31.9 litres a month or so ago... 49mpg. But that was in the kit.

To be honest I'm curious to see how well it can do the same run once it's up and running again with the 20vt engine in it!

375 miles on one notch over half a tank (er, that's 5/8 of a tank then, I guess)

Worked out at 43mpg

My new Moonie was doing an easy 400 miles on each tank before the engine transplant

I think there must be a hole in my tank. I've only had the car 3 weeks, but so far I've not managed to get more than 280 miles out of a tank. Saying that, my work pays for my petrol(business and private) and I have a feeling I'm going to get an ear bashing when the fuel bill comes end of the month... I did fill her up 3 times in the first week. lol

You might need a new thermostat.

Funny you should say that. In traffic, my water temp is around 90 degrees, then as soon as I hit a bit of motorway, it drops down to about 70. Does this seem right or is my thermostat kaput?

My 98 vintage 20vt does that, when I first got it I put a new thermostat but it made no difference and cost me £40, doh. Don't the older coupes have the temp sensor on the wrong side of the 'stat or something ?

It's my daily commute to work and back through London. I don't think it's too bad as I got exactly the same miliage with my Civic Type R. Although the Honda's fuel tank is probably smaller by 10 litres.

I managed 505 miles on a single tank in my VIS a couple of years ago, but I'm lucky to beat 440 in the Turbo now.
