The remote for my central locking stopped working the other day. I have the rectangular fob which I think means it is a META system. I've tried both fobs but neither is working, so I can only lock or unlock using the key.
Prior to this problem, I had locked the car using the fob but had one window open. My hazard lights started flashing as if the alarm was going off, however my alarm has either been disconnected or removed entirely as it wasn't sounding, and has never done so before. To stop the lights flashing I pressed the button on the fob which worked fine.
I then drove home and locked the car with the fob and could hear a clicking sound like a relay when the lights flashed. I thought that was odd so unlocked and then locked the car again using the fob, and again when the lights flashed I could hear the relay clicking. But the fob did actually work fine and was locking/unlocking the car OK.
Next morning the remote wasn't working at all.
I thought maybe the system has got itself confused or out of sync, so I've tried a few combinations of locking with the key and fob, but still the fob doesn't work.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers.

Oh, I forgot to add, the dash led light is flashing even when driving the car now.

Have a look at my post about the boot sensor. Your problem sounds very familiar to me.
